1 And Jehovah will say to Moses, See, I gave thee a God to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. And the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron shall be your prophet. Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.
2 Thou shalt speak all that I shall command thee; and Aaron thy brother shall speak to Pharaoh, and he sent forth the sons of Israel out of his land. You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall tell Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go out of his land. You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country.
3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and I multiplied my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt. But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in Egypt,
4 And Pharaoh will not hear to you; and I gave ray hand upon Egypt, and I brought forth my army, my people the sons of Israel, out of Egypt, with great judgments. Pharaoh will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my hosts, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment. he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites.
5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah, in my stretching out my hand over Egypt, and my bringing forth the sons of Israel from the midst of them. The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring out the people of Israel from among them.” And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”
6 And Moses will do, and Aaron, as Jehovah commanded them, so did they. Moses and Aaron did so; they did just as the LORD commanded them. Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD commanded them.
7 And Moses the son of eighty years, and Aaron the son of three and eighty years, in their speaking to Pharaoh. Now Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh. Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.
8 And Jehovah will speak to Moses and to Aaron, saying, Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
9 When Pharaoh shall speak to you, saying, Give ye a wonder for you; and say to Aaron, Take thy rod and cast down before Pharaoh, it shall be into a dragon. “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Prove yourselves by working a miracle,’ then you shall say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, that it may become a serpent.’” “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”
10 And Moses will go, and Aaron, to Pharaoh, and they will do thus as Jehovah commanded: and Aaron will cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it will be into a dragon. So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded. Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.
11 And Pharaoh also will call to the wise men and to the magicians; and the sacred scribes of Egypt, they also will do so with their enchantments. Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and the sorcerers, and they, the magicians of Egypt, also did the same by their secret arts. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts:
12 And they will cast down each their rod, and they will be for dragons: and Aaron's rod swallowed their rods. For each man cast down his staff, and they became serpents. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs. Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.
13 And Pharaoh's heart will be strengthened, and he will not hear to them; as Jehovah said. Still Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the LORD had said. Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the LORD had said.
14 And Jehovah will say to Moses, Pharaoh's heart was heavy; he refused to send forth the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is hardened; he refuses to let the people go. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go.
15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning; behold, he will go forth to the water, and standing to meet him at the lip of the river: and the rod which was turned into a serpent thou shalt take in thy hand. Go to Pharaoh in the morning, as he is going out to the water. Stand on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that turned into a serpent. Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the river. Confront him on the bank of the Nile, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake.
16 And say to him, Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to thee, saying, Send forth my people, and they shall serve me in the desert: and behold, thou didst not hear until now. And you shall say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, sent me to you, saying, “Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness.” But so far, you have not obeyed. Then say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the wilderness. But until now you have not listened.
17 Thus said Jehovah, In this thou shalt know that I am Jehovah: Behold me smiting with the rod which is in my hand upon the waters that in the river, and they were turned into blood. Thus says the LORD, “By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water that is in the Nile, and it shall turn into blood. This is what the LORD says: By this you will know that I am the LORD: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.
18 And the fish which is in the river shall die, and the river be loathsome: and the Egyptians labored in vain to drink the water from the river. The fish in the Nile shall die, and the Nile will stink, and the Egyptians will grow weary of drinking water from the Nile.”’” The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.’”
19 And Jehovah will speak to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take thy rod and stretch out thy hand over the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their canals, and upon their pools, and upon all the collections of their waters, and they shall be blood: and blood was in all the land of Egypt, and in wood, and in stones. And the LORD said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, their canals, and their ponds, and all their pools of water, so that they may become blood, and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, even in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’” The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt—over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs—and they will turn to blood.’ Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in vessels of wood and stone.”
20 And Moses and Aaron will do so as Jehovah commanded; and he will lift up the rod and will smite the water which is in the river, in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants; and all the waters which are in the river shall be turned to blood. Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded. In the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants he lifted up the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the water in the Nile turned into blood. Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood.
21 And the fish which was in the river died; and the river will be loathsome; and the Egyptians will not be able to drink the water from the river: and the blood will be upon all the land of Egypt. And the fish in the Nile died, and the Nile stank, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. There was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.
22 And the sacred scribes of Egypt will do so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart will be strong, and he heard not to them as Jehovah spake. But the magicians of Egypt did the same by their secret arts. So Pharaoh’s heart remained hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the LORD had said. But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.
23 And Pharaoh will turn and will go to his house, and he did not set his heart also to this. Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take even this to heart. Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart.
24 And all the Egyptians will dig round about the river for water to drink; for they will not be able to drink from the water of the river. And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile for water to drink, for they could not drink the water of the Nile. And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.
25 And seven days will be filled up after Jehovah struck the river. Seven full days passed after the LORD had struck the Nile. Seven days passed after the LORD struck the Nile.
