1 An eunuch, whose testicles are broken or cut away, or yard cut off, shall not enter into the church of the Lord. “No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the LORD. No one who has been emasculated by crushing or cutting may enter the assembly of the LORD.
2 A mamzer, that is to say, one born of a prostitute, shall not enter into the church of the Lord, until the tenth generation. “No one born of a forbidden union may enter the assembly of the LORD. Even to the tenth generation, none of his descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD. No one born of a forbidden marriage nor any of their descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD, not even in the tenth generation.
3 The Ammonite and the Moabite, even after the tenth generation shall not enter into the church of the Lord for ever: “No Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of the LORD. Even to the tenth generation, none of them may enter the assembly of the LORD forever, No Ammonite or Moabite or any of their descendants may enter the assembly of the LORD, not even in the tenth generation.
4 Because they would not meet you with bread and water in the way, when you came out of Egypt: and because they hired against thee Balaam, the son of Beer, from Mesopotamia in Syria, to curse thee. because they did not meet you with bread and with water on the way, when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. For they did not come to meet you with bread and water on your way when you came out of Egypt, and they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to pronounce a curse on you.
5 And the Lord thy God would not hear Balaam, and he turned his cursing into thy blessing, because he loved thee. But the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loved you. However, the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you.
6 Thou shalt not make peace with them, neither shalt thou seek their prosperity all the days of thy life for ever. You shall not seek their peace or their prosperity all your days forever. Do not seek a treaty of friendship with them as long as you live.
7 Thou shalt not abhor the Edomite, because he is thy brother: nor the Egyptian, because thou wast a stranger in his land. “You shall not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were a sojourner in his land. Do not despise an Edomite, for the Edomites are related to you. Do not despise an Egyptian, because you resided as foreigners in their country.
8 They that are born of them, in the third generation shall enter into the church of the Lord. Children born to them in the third generation may enter the assembly of the LORD. The third generation of children born to them may enter the assembly of the LORD.
9 When thou goest out to war against thy enemies, thou shalt keep thyself from every evil thing. “When you are encamped against your enemies, then you shall keep yourself from every evil thing. When you are encamped against your enemies, keep away from everything impure.
10 If there be among you any man, that is defiled in a dream by night, he shall go forth out of the camp. “If any man among you becomes unclean because of a nocturnal emission, then he shall go outside the camp. He shall not come inside the camp, If one of your men is unclean because of a nocturnal emission, he is to go outside the camp and stay there.
11 And shall not return, before he be washed with water in the evening: and after sunset he shall return into the camp. but when evening comes, he shall bathe himself in water, and as the sun sets, he may come inside the camp. But as evening approaches he is to wash himself, and at sunset he may return to the camp.
12 Thou shalt have a place without the camp, to which thou mayst go for the necessities of nature, “You shall have a place outside the camp, and you shall go out to it. Designate a place outside the camp where you can go to relieve yourself.
13 Carrying a paddle at thy girdle. And when thou sittest down, thou shalt dig round about, and with the earth that is dug up thou shalt cover And you shall have a trowel with your tools, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up your excrement. As part of your equipment have something to dig with, and when you relieve yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement.
14 That which thou art eased of: (for the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thy enemies to thee:) and let thy camp be holy, and let no uncleanness appear therein, lest he go away from thee. Because the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you. For the LORD your God moves about in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you.
15 Thou shalt not deliver to his master the servant that is fled to thee. “You shall not give up to his master a slave who has escaped from his master to you. If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand them over to their master.
16 He shall dwell with thee ill the place that shall please him, and shall rest, in one of thy cities: give him no trouble. He shall dwell with you, in your midst, in the place that he shall choose within one of your towns, wherever it suits him. You shall not wrong him. Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.
17 There shall be no whore among the daughters of Israel, nor whoremonger among the sons of Israel. “None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, and none of the sons of Israel shall be a cult prostitute. No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute.
18 Thou shalt not offer the hire of a strumpet, nor the price of a dog, in the house of the Lord thy God, whatsoever it be that thou hast vowed: because both these are an abomination to the Lord thy God. You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the wages of a dog into the house of the LORD your God in payment for any vow, for both of these are an abomination to the LORD your God. You must not bring the earnings of a female prostitute or of a male prostitute into the house of the LORD your God to pay any vow, because the LORD your God detests them both.
19 Thou shalt not lend to thy brother money to usury, nor corn, nor any other thing: “You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest. Do not charge a fellow Israelite interest, whether on money or food or anything else that may earn interest.
20 But to the stranger. To thy brother thou shalt lend that which he wanteth, without usury: that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all thy works in the land, which thou shalt go in to possess. You may charge a foreigner interest, but you may not charge your brother interest, that the LORD your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. You may charge a foreigner interest, but not a fellow Israelite, so that the LORD your God may bless you in everything you put your hand to in the land you are entering to possess.
21 When thou hast made a vow to the Lord thy God, thou shalt not delay to pay it: because the Lord thy God will require it. And if thou delay, it shall be imputed to thee for a sin. “If you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the LORD your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin. If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the LORD your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.
22 If thou wilt not promise, thou shalt be without sin. But if you refrain from vowing, you will not be guilty of sin. But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty.
23 But that which is once gone out of thy lips, thou shalt observe, and shalt do as thou hast promised to the Lord thy God, and hast spoken with thy own will and with thy own mouth. You shall be careful to do what has passed your lips, for you have voluntarily vowed to the LORD your God what you have promised with your mouth. Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the LORD your God with your own mouth.
24 Going into thy neighbour's vineyard, thou mayst eat as many grapes as thou pleasest: but must carry none out with thee: “If you go into your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, as many as you wish, but you shall not put any in your bag. If you enter your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat all the grapes you want, but do not put any in your basket.
25 If thou go into thy friend's corn, thou mayst break the ears, and rub them in thy hand: but not reap them with a sickle. If you go into your neighbor’s standing grain, you may pluck the ears with your hand, but you shall not put a sickle to your neighbor’s standing grain. If you enter your neighbor’s grainfield, you may pick kernels with your hands, but you must not put a sickle to their standing grain.
