4	They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.	And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.	All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

6	When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language. 8	How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?	And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?	Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?
9	Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,	Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,	Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
15	For these aren’t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day.	For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.	These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!

17	‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.	“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;	“’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18	Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.	even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.	Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19	I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.	And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;	I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20	The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.	the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. 22	“Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him among you, even as you yourselves know,	“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know—	“Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.
23	him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;	this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men.	This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
24	whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.	God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it.	But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
25	For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
26	Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope,	therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced; my flesh also will dwell in hope.	Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope,
27	because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.	For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption.	because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay.
28	You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’	You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’	You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’
29	“Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.	“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.	“Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day.

31	he foreseeing this, spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul wasn’t left in Hades, and his flesh didn’t see decay.	he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption.	Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.

33	Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this which you now see and hear. 39	For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”	For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”	The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
40	With many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”	And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”	With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
41	Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.	So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. 42	They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer. 46	Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,	And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts,	Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47	praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.	praising God and having favor with all the people.
