“Make the Tabernacle from ten curtains of finely woven linen. Decorate the curtains with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.1“You are to construct the tabernacle itself with ten curtains of finely spun linen, each with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and cherubim skillfully worked into them.
These ten curtains must all be exactly the same size—42 feet long and 6 feet wide.2Each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide—all curtains the same size.
Join five of these curtains together to make one long curtain, then join the other five into a second long curtain.3Five of the curtains are to be joined together, and the other five joined as well.
Put loops of blue yarn along the edge of the last curtain in each set.4Make loops of blue material on the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and do the same for the end curtain in the second set.
The fifty loops along the edge of one curtain are to match the fifty loops along the edge of the other curtain.5Make fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the second set, so that the loops line up opposite one another.
Then make fifty gold clasps and fasten the long curtains together with the clasps. In this way, the Tabernacle will be made of one continuous piece.6Make fifty gold clasps as well, and join the curtains together with the clasps, so that the tabernacle will be a unit.
“Make eleven curtains of goat-hair cloth to serve as a tent covering for the Tabernacle.7You are to make curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle—eleven curtains in all.
These eleven curtains must all be exactly the same size—45 feet long and 6 feet wide.8Each of the eleven curtains is to be the same size—thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.
Join five of these curtains together to make one long curtain, and join the other six into a second long curtain. Allow 3 feet of material from the second set of curtains to hang over the front of the sacred tent.9Join five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another. Then fold the sixth curtain over double at the front of the tent.
Make fifty loops for one edge of each large curtain.10Make fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in the first set, and fifty loops along the edge of the corresponding curtain in the second set.
Then make fifty bronze clasps, and fasten the loops of the long curtains with the clasps. In this way, the tent covering will be made of one continuous piece.11Make fifty bronze clasps and put them through the loops to join the tent together as a unit.
The remaining 3 feet of this tent covering will be left to hang over the back of the Tabernacle.12As for the overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle.
Allow 18 inches of remaining material to hang down over each side, so the Tabernacle is completely covered.13And the tent curtains will be a cubit longer on either side, and the excess will hang over the sides of the tabernacle to cover it.
Complete the tent covering with a protective layer of tanned ram skins and a layer of fine goatskin leather.14Also make a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.
“For the framework of the Tabernacle, construct frames of acacia wood.15You are to construct upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle.
Each frame must be 15 feet high and 27 inches wide,16Each frame is to be ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.
with two pegs under each frame. Make all the frames identical.17Two tenons must be connected to each other for each frame. Make all the frames of the tabernacle in this way.
Make twenty of these frames to support the curtains on the south side of the Tabernacle.18Construct twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle,
Also make forty silver bases—two bases under each frame, with the pegs fitting securely into the bases.19with forty silver bases under the twenty frames—two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.
For the north side of the Tabernacle, make another twenty frames,20For the second side of the tabernacle, the north side, make twenty frames
with their forty silver bases, two bases under each frame.21and forty silver bases—two bases under each frame.
Make six frames for the rear—the west side of the Tabernacle—22Make six frames for the rear of the tabernacle, the west side,
along with two additional frames to reinforce the rear corners of the Tabernacle.23and two frames for the two back corners of the tabernacle,
These corner frames will be matched at the bottom and firmly attached at the top with a single ring, forming a single corner unit. Make both of these corner units the same way.24coupled together from bottom to top and fitted into a single ring. These will serve as the two corners.
So there will be eight frames at the rear of the Tabernacle, set in sixteen silver bases—two bases under each frame.25So there are to be eight frames and sixteen silver bases—two under each frame.
“Make crossbars of acacia wood to link the frames, five crossbars for the north side of the Tabernacle26You are also to make five crossbars of acacia wood for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,
and five for the south side. Also make five crossbars for the rear of the Tabernacle, which will face west.27five for those on the other side, and five for those on the rear side of the tabernacle, to the west.
The middle crossbar, attached halfway up the frames, will run all the way from one end of the Tabernacle to the other.28The central crossbar in the middle of the frames shall extend from one end to the other.
Overlay the frames with gold, and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Overlay the crossbars with gold as well.29Overlay the frames with gold and make gold rings to hold the crossbars. Also overlay the crossbars with gold.
“Set up this Tabernacle according to the pattern you were shown on the mountain.30So you are to set up the tabernacle according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
“For the inside of the Tabernacle, make a special curtain of finely woven linen. Decorate it with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.31Make a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen, with cherubim skillfully worked into it.
Hang this curtain on gold hooks attached to four posts of acacia wood. Overlay the posts with gold, and set them in four silver bases.32Hang it with gold hooks on four posts of acacia wood, overlaid with gold and standing on four silver bases.
Hang the inner curtain from clasps, and put the Ark of the Covenant in the room behind it. This curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.33And hang the veil from the clasps and place the ark of the Testimony behind the veil. So the veil will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.
“Then put the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—on top of the Ark of the Covenant inside the Most Holy Place.34Put the mercy seat on the ark of the Testimony in the Most Holy Place.
Place the table outside the inner curtain on the north side of the Tabernacle, and place the lampstand across the room on the south side.35And place the table outside the veil on the north side of the tabernacle, and put the lampstand opposite the table, on the south side.
“Make another curtain for the entrance to the sacred tent. Make it of finely woven linen and embroider it with exquisite designs, using blue, purple, and scarlet thread.36For the entrance to the tent, you are to make a curtain embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and finely spun linen.
Craft five posts from acacia wood. Overlay them with gold, and hang the curtain from them with gold hooks. Cast five bronze bases for the posts.37Make five posts of acacia wood for the curtain, overlay them with gold hooks, and cast five bronze bases for them.
