| 1Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty, | 1Praise the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are magnificent. You are robed in splendor and majesty. |
| 2Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain. | 2He covers himself with light as if it were a garment. He stretches out the skies like a tent curtain, |
| 3He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind, | 3and lays the beams of the upper rooms of his palace on the rain clouds. He makes the clouds his chariot, and travels along on the wings of the wind. |
| 4Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire. | 4He makes the winds his messengers, and the flaming fire his attendant. |
| 5You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever, | 5He established the earth on its foundations; it will never be upended. |

| 14He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth, | 14He provides grass for the cattle, and crops for people to cultivate, so they can produce food from the ground, |
| 15And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make his face shine, And bread which strengthens man’s heart. | 15as well as wine that makes people feel so good, and so they can have oil to make their faces shine, as well as food that sustains people's lives. |

| 17Where the birds make their nests; The stork has her home in the fir trees. | 17where the birds make nests, near the evergreens in which the herons live. |
| 18The high hills are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers. | 18The wild goats live in the high mountains; the rock badgers find safety in the cliffs. |
| 19He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down. | 19He made the moon to mark the months, and the sun sets according to a regular schedule. |
| 20You make darkness, and it is night, In which all the beasts of the forest creep about. | 20You make it dark and night comes, during which all the beasts of the forest prowl around. |
| 21The young lions roar after their prey, And seek their food from God. | 21The lions roar for prey, seeking their food from God. |
| 22When the sun rises, they gather together And lie down in their dens. | 22When the sun rises, they withdraw and sleep in their dens. |
| 23Man goes out to his work And to his labor until the evening. | 23Men then go out to do their work, and labor away until evening. |
| 24O LORD, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions— | 24How many living things you have made, O LORD! You have exhibited great skill in making all of them; the earth is full of the living things you have made. |
| 25This great and wide sea, In which are innumerable teeming things, Living things both small and great. | 25Over here is the deep, wide sea, which teems with innumerable swimming creatures, living things both small and large. |
| 26There the ships sail about; There is that Leviathan Which You have made to play there. | 26The ships travel there, and over here swims the whale you made to play in it. |
| 27These all wait for You, That You may give them their food in due season. | 27All of your creatures wait for you to provide them with food on a regular basis. |
| 28What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good. | 28You give food to them and they receive it; you open your hand and they are filled with food. |
| 29You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. | 29When you ignore them, they panic. When you take away their life's breath, they die and return to dust. |
| 30You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the earth. | 30When you send your life-giving breath, they are created, and you replenish the surface of the ground. |
| 31May the glory of the LORD endure forever; May the LORD rejoice in His works. | 31May the splendor of the LORD endure! May the LORD find pleasure in the living things he has made! |
| 32He looks on the earth, and it trembles; He touches the hills, and they smoke. | 32He looks down on the earth and it shakes; he touches the mountains and they start to smolder. |
| 33I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. | 33I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God as long as I exist! |
| 34May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD. | 34May my thoughts be pleasing to him! I will rejoice in the LORD. |
