So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.1Then God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand.2Every living creature of the earth and every bird of the sky will be terrified of you. Everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea are under your authority.
Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.3You may eat any moving thing that lives. As I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.4But you must not eat meat with its life (that is, its blood) in it.
Surely for your lifeblood I will demand a reckoning; from the hand of every beast I will require it, and from the hand of man. From the hand of every man’s brother I will require the life of man.5For your lifeblood I will surely exact punishment, from every living creature I will exact punishment. From each person I will exact punishment for the life of the individual since the man was his relative.
“Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man.6"Whoever sheds human blood, by other humans must his blood be shed; for in God's image God has made humankind."
And as for you, be fruitful and multiply; Bring forth abundantly in the earth And multiply in it.”7But as for you, be fruitful and multiply; increase abundantly on the earth and multiply on it."
Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying:8God said to Noah and his sons,
“And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you,9"Look! I now confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you
and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth.10and with every living creature that is with you, including the birds, the domestic animals, and every living creature of the earth with you, all those that came out of the ark with you--every living creature of the earth.
Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”11I confirm my covenant with you: Never again will all living things be wiped out by the waters of a flood; never again will a flood destroy the earth."
And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:12And God said, "This is the guarantee of the covenant I am making with you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all subsequent generations:
I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.13I will place my rainbow in the clouds, and it will become a guarantee of the covenant between me and the earth.
It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud;14Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.15then I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures of all kinds. Never again will the waters become a flood and destroy all living things.
The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”16When the rainbow is in the clouds, I will notice it and remember the perpetual covenant between God and all living creatures of all kinds that are on the earth."
And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”17So God said to Noah, "This is the guarantee of the covenant that I am confirming between me and all living things that are on the earth."
Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan.18The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Now Ham was the father of Canaan.)
These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.19These were the sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was populated.
And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard.20Noah, a man of the soil, began to plant a vineyard.
Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.21When he drank some of the wine, he got drunk and uncovered himself inside his tent.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.22Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father's nakedness and told his two brothers who were outside.
But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.23Shem and Japheth took the garment and placed it on their shoulders. Then they walked in backwards and covered up their father's nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so they did not see their father's nakedness.
So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.24When Noah awoke from his drunken stupor he learned what his youngest son had done to him.
Then he said: “Cursed be Canaan; A servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.”25So he said, "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves he will be to his brothers."
And he said: “Blessed be the LORD, The God of Shem, And may Canaan be his servant.26He also said, "Worthy of praise is the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem!
May God enlarge Japheth, And may he dwell in the tents of Shem; And may Canaan be his servant.”27May God enlarge Japheth's territory and numbers! May he live in the tents of Shem and may Canaan be his slave!"
And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.28After the flood Noah lived 350 years.
So all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years; and he died.29The entire lifetime of Noah was 950 years, and then he died.
