NET Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]

For the music director; by the Korahites, a well-written song. O God, we have clearly heard; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in ancient times. 1For the choir director. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. O God, we have heard with our ears, Our fathers have told us The work that You did in their days, In the days of old.
You, by your power, defeated nations and settled our fathers on their land; you crushed the people living there and enabled our ancestors to occupy it. 2You with Your own hand drove out the nations; Then You planted them; You afflicted the peoples, Then You spread them abroad.
For they did not conquer the land by their swords, and they did not prevail by their strength, but rather by your power, strength and good favor, for you were partial to them. 3For by their own sword they did not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence, For You favored them.
You are my king, O God! Decree Jacob's deliverance! 4You are my King, O God; Command victories for Jacob.
By your power we will drive back our enemies; by your strength we will trample down our foes! 5Through You we will push back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.
For I do not trust in my bow, and I do not prevail by my sword. 6For I will not trust in my bow, Nor will my sword save me.
For you deliver us from our enemies; you humiliate those who hate us. 7But You have saved us from our adversaries, And You have put to shame those who hate us.
In God I boast all day long, and we will continually give thanks to your name. (Selah) 8In God we have boasted all day long, And we will give thanks to Your name forever. Selah.
But you rejected and embarrassed us! You did not go into battle with our armies. 9Yet You have rejected us and brought us to dishonor, And do not go out with our armies.
You made us retreat from the enemy. Those who hate us take whatever they want from us. 10You cause us to turn back from the adversary; And those who hate us have taken spoil for themselves.
You handed us over like sheep to be eaten; you scattered us among the nations. 11You give us as sheep to be eaten And have scattered us among the nations.
You sold your people for a pittance; you did not ask a high price for them. 12You sell Your people cheaply, And have not profited by their sale.
You made us an object of disdain to our neighbors; those who live on our borders taunt and insult us. 13You make us a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and a derision to those around us.
You made us an object of ridicule among the nations; foreigners treat us with contempt. 14You make us a byword among the nations, A laughingstock among the peoples.
All day long I feel humiliated and am overwhelmed with shame, 15All day long my dishonor is before me And my humiliation has overwhelmed me,
before the vindictive enemy who ridicules and insults me. 16Because of the voice of him who reproaches and reviles, Because of the presence of the enemy and the avenger.
All this has happened to us, even though we have not rejected you or violated your covenant with us. 17All this has come upon us, but we have not forgotten You, And we have not dealt falsely with Your covenant.
We have not been unfaithful, nor have we disobeyed your commands. 18Our heart has not turned back, And our steps have not deviated from Your way,
Yet you have battered us, leaving us a heap of ruins overrun by wild dogs; you have covered us with darkness. 19Yet You have crushed us in a place of jackals And covered us with the shadow of death.
If we had rejected our God, and spread out our hands in prayer to another god, 20If we had forgotten the name of our God Or extended our hands to a strange god,
would not God discover it, for he knows one's thoughts? 21Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
Yet because of you we are killed all day long; we are treated like sheep at the slaughtering block. 22But for Your sake we are killed all day long; We are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.
Rouse yourself! Why do you sleep, O Lord? Wake up! Do not reject us forever! 23Arouse Yourself, why do You sleep, O Lord? Awake, do not reject us forever.
Why do you look the other way, and ignore the way we are oppressed and mistreated? 24Why do You hide Your face And forget our affliction and our oppression?
For we lie in the dirt, with our bellies pressed to the ground. 25For our soul has sunk down into the dust; Our body cleaves to the earth.
Rise up and help us! Rescue us because of your loyal love! 26Rise up, be our help, And redeem us for the sake of Your lovingkindness.
