Psalm 71
NASB Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995International Standard Version
In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.1In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be humiliated.
In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; Incline Your ear to me and save me.2Rescue and deliver me, because you are righteous. Turn your ear to me and save me.
Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.3Be my sheltering refuge where I may go continuously; command my deliverance for you are my rock and fortress.
Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,4My God, deliver me from the power of the wicked and the grasp of ruthless practicers of evil.
For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.5For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my security since I was young.
By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother's womb; My praise is continually of You.6I depended on you since birth, when you brought me from my mother's womb; I praise you continuously.
I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.7I have become an example to many that you are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.8My mouth is filled with your praise and your splendor daily.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.9Don't throw me away when I am old; do not abandon me when my strength fails.
For my enemies have spoken against me; And those who watch for my life have consulted together,10For my enemies talk against me; those who seek to kill me plot together
Saying, "God has forsaken him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver."11and say, "God has abandoned him. Run after him and seize him, because there's no deliverer."
O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hasten to my help!12God, do not be distant from me. My God, come quickly to help me.
Let those who are adversaries of my soul be ashamed and consumed; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.13Let my adversaries be ashamed and consumed; let those who seek my destruction be covered with scorn and disgrace.
But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.14As for me, I will hope continuously and will praise you more and more.
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them.15I will declare your righteousness and your salvation every day, though I do not fully understand what the outcome will be.
I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.16Lord GOD, I will come in the power of your mighty acts, remembering your righteousness—yours alone.
O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.17God, you taught me from my youth, so I am still declaring your awesome deeds.
And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.18Also, when I reach old age and have gray hair, God, do not forsake me, until I have declared your power to this generation and your might to the next one.
For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?19Your many righteous deeds, God, are great,
You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.20God, who can compare to you, who caused me to experience troubles that were numerous and disastrous? You will return to revive me and lift me up from the depths of the earth.
May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.21You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.22I also will praise you with the harp; because of your faithfulness, my God, I will praise you with the lyre— Holy One of Israel.
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.23My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you, whose life you have redeemed.
My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long; For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.24Moreover, my tongue will speak all day about your justice; for those who seek my destruction will be utterly humiliated.
