To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.1For the music director; by David, a psalm, a song. God springs into action! His enemies scatter; his adversaries run from him.
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.2As smoke is driven away by the wind, so you drive them away. As wax melts before fire, so the wicked are destroyed before God.
But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.3But the godly are happy; they rejoice before God and are overcome with joy.
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.4Sing to God! Sing praises to his name! Exalt the one who rides on the clouds! For the LORD is his name! Rejoice before him!

God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.6God settles those who have been deserted in their own homes; he frees prisoners and grants them prosperity. But sinful rebels live in the desert.
O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:7O God, when you lead your people into battle, when you march through the desert, (Selah)
The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.8the earth shakes, yes, the heavens pour down rain before God, the God of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.
Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.9O God, you cause abundant showers to fall on your chosen people. When they are tired, you sustain them,
Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.10for you live among them. You sustain the oppressed with your good blessings, O God.
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.11The Lord speaks; many, many women spread the good news.
Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.12Kings leading armies run away--they run away! The lovely lady of the house divides up the loot.
Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.13When you lie down among the sheepfolds, the wings of the dove are covered with silver and with glittering gold.
When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.14When the sovereign judge scatters kings, let it snow on Zalmon!
The hill of God is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.15The mountain of Bashan is a towering mountain; the mountain of Bashan is a mountain with many peaks.
Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever.16Why do you look with envy, O mountains with many peaks, at the mountain where God has decided to live? Indeed the LORD will live there permanently!
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.17God has countless chariots; they number in the thousands. The Lord comes from Sinai in holy splendor.
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.18You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!
Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.19The Lord deserves praise! Day after day he carries our burden, the God who delivers us. (Selah)
He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death.20Our God is a God who delivers; the LORD, the sovereign Lord, can rescue from death.
But God shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.21Indeed God strikes the heads of his enemies, the hairy foreheads of those who persist in rebellion.

Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.28God has decreed that you will be powerful. O God, you who have acted on our behalf, demonstrate your power,
