Psalm 71
ESV Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNew American Standard Bible 1995
In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame!1In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.
In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me!2In Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; Incline Your ear to me and save me.
Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.3Be to me a rock of habitation to which I may continually come; You have given commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.
Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man.4Rescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,
For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.5For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth.
Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of you.6By You I have been sustained from my birth; You are He who took me from my mother's womb; My praise is continually of You.
I have been as a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge.7I have become a marvel to many, For You are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day.8My mouth is filled with Your praise And with Your glory all day long.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.9Do not cast me off in the time of old age; Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
For my enemies speak concerning me; those who watch for my life consult together10For my enemies have spoken against me; And those who watch for my life have consulted together,
and say, “God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver him.”11Saying, "God has forsaken him; Pursue and seize him, for there is no one to deliver."
O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me!12O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hasten to my help!
May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my hurt.13Let those who are adversaries of my soul be ashamed and consumed; Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, who seek to injure me.
But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more.14But as for me, I will hope continually, And will praise You yet more and more.
My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.15My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the sum of them.
With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone.16I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.
O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.17O God, You have taught me from my youth, And I still declare Your wondrous deeds.
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.18And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.
Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens. You who have done great things, O God, who is like you?19For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You?
You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.20You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
You will increase my greatness and comfort me again.21May You increase my greatness And turn to comfort me.
I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.22I will also praise You with a harp, Even Your truth, O my God; To You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have redeemed.23My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.
And my tongue will talk of your righteous help all the day long, for they have been put to shame and disappointed who sought to do me hurt.24My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long; For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.
