Psalm 71
ESV Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionBerean Study Bible
In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame!1In You, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.
In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me, and save me!2In Your justice, rescue and deliver me; incline Your ear and save me.
Be to me a rock of refuge, to which I may continually come; you have given the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.3Be my rock of refuge, where I can always go. Give the command to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress.
Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man.4Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and ruthless.
For you, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth.5For You are my hope, O Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth.
Upon you I have leaned from before my birth; you are he who took me from my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of you.6I have leaned on You since birth; You pulled me from my mother’s womb. My praise is always for You.
I have been as a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge.7I have become a portent to many, but You are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day.8My mouth is filled with Your praise and with Your splendor all day long.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent.9Do not discard me in my old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails.
For my enemies speak concerning me; those who watch for my life consult together10For my enemies speak against me, and those who lie in wait for my life conspire,
and say, “God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, for there is none to deliver him.”11saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for there is no one to rescue him.”
O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me!12Be not far from me, O God. Hurry, O my God, to help me.
May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my hurt.13May the accusers of my soul be ashamed and consumed; may those who seek my harm be covered with scorn and disgrace.
But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more.14But I will always hope and will praise You more and more.
My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.15My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your salvation all day long, though I cannot know their full measure.
With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone.16I will enter in the strength of the Lord GOD; I will proclaim Your righteousness—Yours alone.
O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.17O God, You have taught me from my youth, and to this day I proclaim Your marvelous deeds.
So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.18Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, until I proclaim Your power to the next generation, Your might to all who are to come.
Your righteousness, O God, reaches the high heavens. You who have done great things, O God, who is like you?19Your righteousness reaches to the heavens, O God, You who have done great things. Who, O God, is like You?
You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.20Though You have shown me many troubles and misfortunes, You will revive me once again. Even from the depths of the earth You will bring me back up.
You will increase my greatness and comfort me again.21You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.22So I will praise You with the harp for Your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to You with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praises to you; my soul also, which you have redeemed.23When I sing praise to You my lips will shout for joy, along with my soul, which You have redeemed.
And my tongue will talk of your righteous help all the day long, for they have been put to shame and disappointed who sought to do me hurt.24My tongue will indeed proclaim Your righteousness all day long, for those who seek my harm are disgraced and confounded.
