| 7Herod the tetrarch heard about everything that was going on. He was perplexed, because some said that John had been raised from the dead, | 7When Herod Antipas, the ruler of Galilee, heard about everything Jesus was doing, he was puzzled. | 43And they were all astonished at the greatness of God. Jesus Again Predicts His Death While everyone was marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus said to his disciples, |
| 44"Let these words sink in: The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men." | 44 “Listen to me and remember what I say. The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies.” |
| 45But they did not understand this statement; it was concealed from them so that they could not grasp it, and they were afraid to ask him about it. | 45But they didn’t know what he meant. | 46An argument started among them about who was the greatest of them. | 46Then his disciples began arguing about which of them was the greatest. |
