A Prophecy against Ammon

1 וַיְהִ֥י (And came) דְבַר־ (the word) יְהוָ֖ה (of YHWH) אֵלַ֥י (to me) לֵאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 2 בֶּן־ (Son) אָדָ֕ם (of man), שִׂ֥ים (set) פָּנֶ֖יךָ (your face) אֶל־ (against) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) עַמּ֑וֹן (of Ammon) וְהִנָּבֵ֖א (and prophesy) עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ (against them). 3 וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ (And say) לִבְנֵ֣י (to the sons) עַמּ֔וֹן (of Ammon) שִׁמְע֖וּ (hear) דְּבַר־ (the word) אֲדֹנָ֣י (of the Lord) יְהוִ֑ה (YHWH); כֹּה־ (thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֡ה (YHWH); יַעַן֩ (Because) אָמְרֵ֨ךְ (you said), הֶאָ֜ח (Aha), אֶל־ (against) מִקְדָּשִׁ֣י (My sanctuary), כִֽי־ (when) נִחָ֗ל (it was profaned); וְאֶל־ (and against) אַדְמַ֤ת (the land) יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ (of Israel), כִּ֣י (when) נָשַׁ֔מָּה (it became desolate); וְאֶל־ (and against) בֵּ֣ית (the house) יְהוּדָ֔ה (of Judah), כִּ֥י (when) הָלְכ֖וּ (they went) בַּגּוֹלָֽה׃ (into captivity); 4 לָכֵ֡ן (therefore) הִנְנִי֩ (behold—I) נֹתְנָ֨ךְ (I am giving you) לִבְנֵי־ (to the sons) קֶ֜דֶם (of the East) לְמֽוֹרָשָׁ֗ה (as a possession), וְיִשְּׁב֤וּ (and they will settle) טִירֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ (their encampments) בָּ֔ךְ (among you) וְנָ֥תְנוּ (and will give to be) בָ֖ךְ (among you) מִשְׁכְּנֵיהֶ֑ם (their tents) הֵ֚מָּה (they) יֹאכְל֣וּ (will eat) פִרְיֵ֔ךְ (your fruit), וְהֵ֖מָּה (and they) יִשְׁתּ֥וּ (will drink) חֲלָבֵֽךְ׃ (your milk). 5 וְנָתַתִּ֤י (And I will give) אֶת־ (-) רַבָּה֙ (Rabbah) לִנְוֵ֣ה (as a habitation) גְמַלִּ֔ים (of camels), וְאֶת־ (and) בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) עַמּ֖וֹן (of Ammon) לְמִרְבַּץ־ (as a resting place for) צֹ֑אן (the flock). וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם (And you⁺ will know) כִּֽי־ (that) אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָֽה׃ס (YHWH).

6 כִּ֣י (For) כֹ֤ה (thus) אָמַר֙ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֔ה (YHWH); יַ֚עַן (Because) מַחְאֲךָ֣ (of your clapping) יָ֔ד (hands), וְרַקְעֲךָ֖ (and your stomping) בְּרָ֑גֶל (with feet), וַתִּשְׂמַ֤ח (and you rejoiced) בְּכָל־ (with all) שָֽׁאטְךָ֙ (contempt) בְּנֶ֔פֶשׁ (of heart) אֶל־ (against) אַדְמַ֖ת (the land) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (of Israel); 7 לָכֵ֡ן (therefore) הִנְנִי֩ (behold—I) נָטִ֨יתִי (am stretching out) אֶת־ (-) יָדִ֜י (My hand) עָלֶ֗יךָ (against you) וּנְתַתִּ֤יךָֽ־ (and will give you) לְבַג (as plunder) לַגּוֹיִ֔ם (to the nations); וְהִכְרַתִּ֙יךָ֙ (and I will cut you off) מִן־ (from) הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים (the peoples), וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֖יךָ (and I will cause you to perish) מִן־ (from) הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת (the lands); אַשְׁמִ֣ידְךָ֔ (I will destroy you) וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ (and you will know) כִּֽי־ (that) אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָֽה׃ס (YHWH).

A Prophecy against Moab

8 כֹּ֥ה (Thus) אָמַ֖ר (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֑ה (YHWH); יַ֗עַן (Because of) אֲמֹ֤ר (the saying), מוֹאָב֙ (of Moab) וְשֵׂעִ֔יר (and Seir) הִנֵּ֥ה (Behold), כְּכָֽל־ (like all) הַגּוֹיִ֖ם (the nations); בֵּ֥ית (is the house) יְהוּדָֽה׃ (of Judah). 9 לָכֵן֩ (Therefore), הִנְנִ֨י (behold—I) פֹתֵ֜חַ (am going to lay open) אֶת־ (-) כֶּ֤תֶף (the shoulder) מוֹאָב֙ (of Moab) מֵהֶ֣עָרִ֔ים (from the cities), מֵֽעָרָ֖יו (from its cities) מִקָּצֵ֑הוּ (on its frontier), צְבִ֗י (the glory) אֶ֚רֶץ (of the land), בֵּ֣ית (Beth-) הַיְשִׁימֹ֔ת (jeshimoth), בַּ֥עַל (Baal-) מְע֖וֹן (meon), וְקִרְיָתְמָה׃ (and Kiriathaim), 10 לִבְנֵי־ (to the sons) קֶ֙דֶם֙ (of the East) עַל־ (along with) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) עַמּ֔וֹן (of Ammon) וּנְתַתִּ֖יהָ (and will I give it) לְמֽוֹרָשָׁ֑ה (as a possession), לְמַ֛עַן (so that) לֹֽא־ (not) תִזָּכֵ֥ר (may be remembered) בְּנֵֽי־ (the sons) עַמּ֖וֹן (of Ammon) בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃ (among the nations). 11 וּבְמוֹאָ֖ב (And against Moab); אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה (I will make) שְׁפָטִ֑ים (judgments) וְיָדְע֖וּ (and they will know) כִּֽי־ (that) אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָֽה׃ס (YHWH).

A Prophecy against Edom

12 כֹּ֤ה (Thus) אָמַר֙ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֔ה (YHWH); יַ֣עַן (Because) עֲשׂ֥וֹת (acted) אֱד֛וֹם (Edom) בִּנְקֹ֥ם (by taking) נָקָ֖ם (vengeance), לְבֵ֣ית (against the house) יְהוּדָ֑ה (of Judah) וַיֶּאְשְׁמ֥וּ (so being guilty) אָשׁ֖וֹם (they became guilty), וְנִקְּמ֥וּ (and in the avenging themselves) בָהֶֽם׃ (on them). 13 לָכֵ֗ן (Therefore) כֹּ֤ה (thus) אָמַר֙ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֔ה (YHWH); וְנָטִ֤תִי (and I will stretch out) יָדִי֙ (My hand) עַל־ (against) אֱד֔וֹם (Edom), וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י (and will cut off) מִמֶּ֖נָּה (from it) אָדָ֣ם (man) וּבְהֵמָ֑ה (and beast) וּנְתַתִּ֤יהָ (and I will give it) חָרְבָּה֙ (as a desolation) מִתֵּימָ֔ן (from Teman) וּדְדָ֖נֶה (and to Dedan) בַּחֶ֥רֶב (by the sword) יִפֹּֽלוּ׃ (they will fall). 14 וְנָתַתִּ֨י (And I will lay) אֶת־ (-) נִקְמָתִ֜י (My vengeance) בֶּאֱד֗וֹם (on Edom) בְּיַד֙ (by the hand) עַמִּ֣י (of My people) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (Israel). וְעָשׂ֣וּ (And they will act) בֶאֱד֔וֹם (in Edom) כְּאַפִּ֖י (according to My anger) וְכַחֲמָתִ֑י (and according to My fury); וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ (and they will know) אֶת־ (-) נִקְמָתִ֔י (My vengeance), נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃פ (YHWH).

A Prophecy against the Philistines

15 כֹּ֤ה (Thus) אָמַר֙ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֔ה (YHWH); יַ֛עַן (Because) עֲשׂ֥וֹת (acted) פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים (the Philistines) בִּנְקָמָ֑ה (with vengeance), וַיִּנָּקְמ֤וּ (and took) נָקָם֙ (vengeance) בִּשְׁאָ֣ט (with scorn) בְּנֶ֔פֶשׁ (in the soul), לְמַשְׁחִ֖ית (to destroy) אֵיבַ֥ת (hostility); עוֹלָֽם׃ (with ancient). 16 לָכֵ֗ן (Therefore) כֹּ֤ה (thus) אָמַר֙ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֔ה (YHWH); הִנְנִ֨י (behold, I) נוֹטֶ֤ה (am stretching out) יָדִי֙ (My hand) עַל־ (against) פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים (the Philistines), וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י (and I will cut off) אֶת־ (-) כְּרֵתִ֑ים (the Cherethites), וְהַ֣אֲבַדְתִּ֔י (and I will destroy) אֶת־ (-) שְׁאֵרִ֖ית (the remnant) ח֥וֹף (of the coast) הַיָּֽם׃ (of the sea). 17 וְעָשִׂ֤יתִי (And I will execute) בָם֙ (against them) נְקָמ֣וֹת (vengeance) גְּדֹל֔וֹת (great) בְּתוֹכְח֖וֹת (with rebukes); חֵמָ֑ה (of fury) וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ (and they will know) כִּֽי־ (that) אֲנִ֣י (I am) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH), בְּתִתִּ֥י (when I lay) אֶת־ (-) נִקְמָתִ֖י (My vengeance) בָּֽם׃ס (upon them).
