29 Jesus was saying, “Truly I say to you?, there is no one who left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for My sake and for the sake of the gospel

30 who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, with persecutions—and in the age that is coming, eternal life.

31 But many first will be last, and the last, first.”

32 And they were on the way, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on before them. And they were astonished, and those following were afraid. And having taken aside the Twelve again, He began to tell them the things being about to happen to Him:

33 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death and will betray Him to the Gentiles.

34 And they will mock Him and will spit upon Him and will flog Him and will kill Him, and after three days He will rise again.”

35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come to Him, saying to Him, “Teacher, we wish that You would do for us whatever we might ask You.”

36 And He said to them, “What do you? want Me to do for you??”

37 And they said to Him, “Give to us that one at Your right hand and one at Your left hand we might sit in Your glory.”

38 And Jesus said to them, “You? do not know what you? ask. Are you? able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?”

39 And they said to Him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “You? will drink the cup that I drink, and you? will be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized.

40 But to sit at My right hand or at My left hand is not Mine to give, but it is to those for whom it has been prepared.”

41 And having heard, the ten began to be indignant about James and John.

42 And Jesus, having summoned them, says to them, “You? know that those considered to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

43 But it is not thus among you?. But whoever may want to become great among you?, he will be your? servant;

44 and whoever may want to be first among you?, he will be slave of all.

45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

46 And they come to Jericho. And in His going out from Jericho—and His disciples and a large crowd—the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting beside the road.

47 And having heard that it is Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48 And many were rebuking him that he should be silent. But much more he was crying out, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 And having stood, Jesus said, “Call him.” And they call the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage! Rise up! He calls you.”

50 And having cast away his cloak, having leaped up, he came to Jesus.

51 And answering him, Jesus says, “What do you desire that I may do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive sight.”

52 “And” Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has saved you.” And immediately he received his sight, and he was following Him on the road.
