(2 Samuel 12:1-12)

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.1Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.1For the choir director. A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.1For the choir director. A Davidic psalm, when Nathan the prophet came to him after he had gone to Bathsheba. Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithful love; according to Your abundant compassion, blot out my rebellion.
Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.2Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!2Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin.2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.2Wash away my guilt and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.3For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.3For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me.3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.3For I am conscious of my rebellion, and my sin is always before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.4Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.4Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge.4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.4Against You--You alone--I have sinned and done this evil in Your sight. So You are right when You pass sentence; You are blameless when You judge.

Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.5Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.5Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.
Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.6Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.6Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.6Surely You desire integrity in the inner self, and You teach me wisdom deep within.
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.7Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.7Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.8Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice.8Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.8Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones You have crushed rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.9Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.9Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities.9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.9Turn Your face away from my sins and blot out all my guilt.

You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.16For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.16For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering.16For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.16You do not want a sacrifice, or I would give it; You are not pleased with a burnt offering.
My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.17The sacrifice pleasing to God is a broken spirit. God, You will not despise a broken and humbled heart.
