For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry. I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. For the music director. A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; And He reached down to me and heard my cry. For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me up from the pit of despair, out of the miry clay; He set my feet upon a rock, and made my footsteps firm. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the mud; And He set my feet on a rock, making my footsteps firm. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.
Blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, who has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who become involved in falsehood. Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.
Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders You have done, and the plans You have for us— none can compare to You— if I proclaim and declare them, they are more than I can count. You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us; none can compare with you! I will proclaim and tell of them, yet they are more than can be told. Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. Many, LORD my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is no one to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count. Many, LORD my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.
Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but my ears You have opened. Burnt offerings and sin offerings You did not require. In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted, but you have given me an open ear. Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required. Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. You have not desired sacrifice and meal offering; You have opened my ears; You have not required burnt offering and sin offering. Sacrifice and offering you did not desire— but my ears you have opened — burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.
Then I said, “Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll: Then I said, “Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written of me: Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, Then I said, “Behold, I have come; It is written of me in the scroll of the book. Then I said, “Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll.
I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.” I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. “I delight to do Your will, my God; Your Law is within my heart.” I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”
I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; behold, I do not seal my lips, as You, O LORD, do know. I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O LORD. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. I have proclaimed good news of righteousness in the great congregation; Behold, I will not restrain my lips, LORD, You know. I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, LORD, as you know.
I have not covered up Your righteousness in my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and salvation; I have not concealed Your loving devotion and faithfulness from the great assembly. I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your mercy and Your truth from the great congregation. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly.
O LORD, do not withhold Your mercy from me; Your loving devotion and faithfulness will always guard me. As for you, O LORD, you will not restrain your mercy from me; your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. You, LORD, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me. Do not withhold your mercy from me, LORD; may your love and faithfulness always protect me.
For evils without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, so that I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart has failed within me. For evils have encompassed me beyond number; my iniquities have overtaken me, and I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head; my heart fails me. For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. For evils beyond number have surrounded me; My guilty deeds have overtaken me, so that I am not able to see; They are more numerous than the hairs of my head, And my heart has failed me. For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.
Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me; hurry, O LORD, to help me. Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me! O LORD, make haste to help me! Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. Be pleased, LORD, to rescue me; Hurry, LORD, to help me. Be pleased to save me, LORD; come quickly, LORD, to help me.
May those who seek my life be ashamed and confounded; may those who wish me harm be repelled and humiliated. Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether who seek to snatch away my life; let those be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt! Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. May those be ashamed and humiliated together Who seek my life to destroy it; May those be turned back and dishonored Who delight in my hurt. May all who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.
May those who say to me, “Aha, aha!” be appalled at their own shame. Let those be appalled because of their shame who say to me, “Aha, Aha!” Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha. May those be appalled because of their shame Who say to me, “Aha, aha!” May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” be appalled at their own shame.
May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your salvation always say, “The LORD be magnified!” But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the LORD!” Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; May those who love Your salvation continually say, “The LORD be exalted!” But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The LORD is great!”
But I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my helper and deliverer; O my God, do not delay. As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God! But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. But I am afflicted and needy; May the Lord be mindful of me. You are my help and my savior; Do not delay, my God. But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.
