1 For David himself. Bless the Lord, O my soul: O Lord my God, thou art exceedingly great. Thou hast put on praise and beauty: Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, Praise the LORD, my soul. LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

5 Who hast founded the earth upon its own bases: it shall not be moved for ever and ever. He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
6 The deep like a garment is its clothing: above the mountains shall the waters stand. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At thy rebuke they shall flee: at the voice of thy thunder they shall fear. At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
8 The mountains ascend, and the plains descend into the place which thou hast founded for them. The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them. they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.
9 Thou hast set a bound which they shall not pass over; neither shall they return to cover the earth. You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth. You set a boundary they cannot cross; never again will they cover the earth.
10 Thou sendest forth springs in the vales: between the midst of the hills the waters shall pass. You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills; He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains.
11 All the beasts of the field shall drink: the wild asses shall expect in their thirst. they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. They give water to all the beasts of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Over them the birds of the air shall dwell: from the midst of the rocks they shall give forth their voices. Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches. The birds of the sky nest by the waters; they sing among the branches.
13 Thou waterest the hills from thy upper rooms: the earth shall be filled with the fruit of thy works: From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work. He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
14 Bringing forth grass for cattle, and herb for the service of men. That thou mayst bring bread out of the earth: You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate— bringing forth food from the earth:
15 and that wine may cheer the heart of man. That he may make the face cheerful with oil: and that bread may strengthen man's heart. and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man’s heart. wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts.
16 The trees of the field shall be filled, and the cedars of Libanus which he hath planted: The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
17 there the sparrows shall make their nests. The highest of them is the house of the heron. In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees. There the birds make their nests; the stork has its home in the junipers.
18 The high hills are a refuge for the harts, the rock for the irchins. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers. The high mountains belong to the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.
19 He hath made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. He made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting. He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.
20 Thou hast appointed darkness, and it is night: in it shall all the beasts of the woods go about: You make darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest creep about. You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl.

25 So is this great sea, which stretcheth wide its arms: there are creeping things without number: Creatures little and great. Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number— living things both large and small.
26 There the ships shall go. This sea dragon which thou hast formed to play therein. There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it. There the ships go to and fro, and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.
27 All expect of thee that thou give them food in season. These all look to you, to give them their food in due season. All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time.
28 What thou givest to them they shall gather up: when thou openest thy hand, they shall all be filled with good. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.
29 But if thou turnest away thy face, they shall be troubled: thou shalt take away their breath, and they shall fail, and shall return to their dust. When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. 30 Thou shalt send forth thy spirit, and they shall be created: and thou shalt renew the face of the earth. When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground. When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.
31 May the glory of the Lord endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works. May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works, May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works—
32 He looketh upon the earth, and maketh it tremble: he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke. who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! he who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. I will sing to the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34 Let my speech be acceptable to him: but I will take delight in the Lord. May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD. May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the LORD.
35 Let sinners be consumed out of the earth, and the unjust, so that they be no more: O my soul, bless thou the Lord. Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more! Bless the LORD, O my soul! Praise the LORD! But may sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more. Praise the LORD, my soul. Praise the LORD.
