1 Since the law has only a shadow of the good things to come, and not the reality itself of those things, it can never perfect the worshipers by the same sacrifices they continually offer year after year. For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.
2 Otherwise, wouldn’t they have stopped being offered, since the worshipers, purified once and for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.
3 But in the sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year. But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins.
4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Therefore, as he was coming into the world, he said: You did not desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me. 7 Then I said, “See — it is written about me in the scroll — I have come to do your will, God.” Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’” Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’”
8 After he says above, You did not desire or delight in sacrifices and offerings, whole burnt offerings and sin offerings (which are offered according to the law ), When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them|—though they were offered in accordance with the law.
9 he then says, See, I have come to do your will. He takes away the first to establish the second. then he added, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second.
10 By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 Every priest stands day after day ministering and offering the same sacrifices time after time, which can never take away sins. And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
12 But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God. But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,
13 He is now waiting until his enemies are made his footstool. waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. For after he says: And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:
16 This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, the Lord says, I will put my laws on their hearts and write them on their minds, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,” “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
17 and I will never again remember their sins and their lawless acts. then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
18 Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer an offering for sin. Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin. And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus — Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,
20 he has inaugurated for us a new and living way through the curtain (that is, through his flesh )— by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,
21 and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, and since we have a great priest over the house of God,

24 And let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
25 not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching. not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
26 For if we deliberately go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
27 but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire about to consume the adversaries. but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
28 Anyone who disregarded the law of Moses died without mercy, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 How much worse punishment do you think one will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God, who has regarded as profane the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know the one who has said, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge his people. For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 Remember the earlier days when, after you had been enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings. But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering.
33 Sometimes you were publicly exposed to taunts and afflictions, and at other times you were companions of those who were treated that way. sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated.
34 For you sympathized with the prisoners and accepted with joy the confiscation of your possessions, because you know that you yourselves have a better and enduring possession. For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one. You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions.
35 So don’t throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
36 For you need endurance, so that after you have done God’s will, you may receive what was promised. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
37 For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay. For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.”
38 But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him. but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”
39 But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and are saved. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.
