1 Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and live there, and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.” God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there. While they were still some distance from Ephrath, Rachel began to give birth and had great difficulty.
17 Now it happened that when she was in severe labor the midwife said to her, “Do not fear, for now you have another son.” And when her labor was at its hardest, the midwife said to her, “Do not fear, for you have another son.” And as she was having great difficulty in childbirth, the midwife said to her, “Don’t despair, for you have another son.”
18 Now it happened as her soul was departing (for she died), that she named him Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin. And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin. As she breathed her last—for she was dying—she named her son Ben-Oni. But his father named him Benjamin.
