3	And, as he was journeying, it came to pass, that he was drawing nigh to Damascus; and suddenly there flashed around him a light from Heaven;	Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him.	As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.
4	and, having fallen upon the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"	And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”	He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
5	And he said, "Who art Thou, Lord?" And He said , "I am Jesus Whom you are persecuting.	And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.	“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.
6	But arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told you what you must do."	But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”	“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7	And the men who were journeying with him were standing speechless; hearing, indeed, the voice, but beholding no one.	The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but seeing no one.	The men traveling with Saul stood there speechless; they heard the sound but did not see anyone.
8	And Saul arose from the earth; and, his eyes being opened, he beheld nothing; but, taking him by the hand, they led him into Damascus.	Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.	Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.
9	And he was three days without seeing; and he neither ate, nor drank.	And for three days he was without sight, and neither ate nor drank.	For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.
10	And there was a certain disciple in Damascus, Ananias by name; and the Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias?" And he said, "Behold, I am here , Lord!"	Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”	In Damascus there was a disciple named Ananias. The Lord called to him in a vision, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord,” he answered.
11	And the Lord said to him, "Arise, go to the street that is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one named Saul of Tarsus; for, behold, he is praying;	And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying,	The Lord told him, “Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.
12	and in a vision he saw a man, Ananias by name, coming in, and laying his hands on him, that he might receive sight."	and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.”	In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight.”
13	And Ananias answered, "Lord, I heard from many concerning this man, how many evils he did to Thy saints in Jerusalem;	But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem.	“Lord,” Ananias answered, “I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your holy people in Jerusalem.
14	and here he has authority from the high priests to bind all those calling on Thy name."	And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”	And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name.”
15	But the Lord said to him, "Go your way; because this man is to Me a chosen vessel to bear My name before nations, and kings, and the sons of Israel;	But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel.	But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.
16	for I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name's sake.	For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”	I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
17	And Ananias went away, and entered into the house; and, laying his hands on him, said, "Brother Saul, the Lord hath sent me? even Jesus, Who appeared to you in the way in which you were coming, sent me, that you may receive sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit."	So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”	Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
18	and straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he received sight; and, arising, he was immersed; and, having taken food, he was strengthened.	And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he rose and was baptized;	Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized,
19	And he was with the disciples in Damascus some days;	and taking food, he was strengthened. For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus.	and after taking some food, he regained his strength. Saul spent several days with the disciples in Damascus.
20	and straightway in the synagogues he was preaching Jesus, that He is the Son of God.	And immediately he proclaimed Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is the Son of God.”	At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God.
21	And all who heard were astonished, and said, "Is not this he who destroyed, in Jerusalem, those calling upon this name, and had come here for this purpose , that he might bring them bound to the high priests?"	And all who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?”	All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”
22	But Saul was being more empowered, and was confounding the Jews who were dwelling in Damascus; proving that this is the Christ.	But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ.	Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.
23	And, when many days were completed, the Jews took counsel together to kill him;	When many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him,	After many days had gone by, there was a conspiracy among the Jews to kill him,
24	but their plot became known to Saul. And they were watching the gates also, both day and night, that they might kill him;	but their plot became known to Saul. They were watching the gates day and night in order to kill him,	but Saul learned of their plan. Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him.
25	but the disciples, taking him by night, let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.	but his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a basket.	But his followers took him by night and lowered him in a basket through an opening in the wall.
26	Now, having come to Jerusalem, he was trying to join himself to the disciples; and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.	And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple. 27	But Barnabas, taking him, brought him to the apostles, and narrated to them how he saw the Lord in the way, and that He spake to him; and how, in Damascus, he spake boldly in the name of Jesus. 28	And he was with them, going in and going out at Jerusalem,	So he went in and out among them at Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord.	So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.
29	preaching boldly in the name of the Lord; and he was speaking and disputing with the Helenists; but they were attempting to kill him;	And he spoke and disputed against the Hellenists. But they were seeking to kill him.	He talked and debated with the Hellenistic Jews, but they tried to kill him.
30	but the brethren, learning it , brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.	And when the brothers learned this, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.	When the believers learned of this, they took him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus.
31	The assembly, therefore, throughout the whole of Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, was having peace, being built up; and, walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the consolation of the Holy Spirit, was being multiplied.	So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.	Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
32	And it came to pass that Peter, going through all parts , came down also to the saints who were dwelling at Lydda.	Now as Peter went here and there among them all, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda.	As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the Lord’s people who lived in Lydda.
33	And he found there a certain man, Aeneas by name, for eight years lying prostrate on a couch, who was paralyzed.	There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed.	There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years.
34	And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ healeth you; arise, and make your bed." And straightway he arose.	And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; rise and make your bed.” And immediately he rose.	“Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up.
35	And all who were dwelling in Lydda and in Sharon saw him; and they turned to the Lord.	And all the residents of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.	All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.
36	Now there was in Joppa a certain disciple, Tabitha by name, (which being translated means Dorcas): this woman was full of good works and alms which she was accustomed to do.	Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.	In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor.
37	And it came to pass in those days that she, having become sick, died; and, having washed her , they laid her in an upper chamber.	In those days she became ill and died, and when they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.	About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room.
38	And, Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent to him two men, entreating him , "Delay not to come to us!"	Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, “Please come to us without delay.”	Lydda was near Joppa; so when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!”
39	And Peter, having arisen, went with them; whom, having come, they led up into the upper chamber; and there stood by him all the widows, weeping and showing coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them.	So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them.	Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.
40	But Peter, having put them all forth, and bowing his knees, prayed; and, turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, arise!" And she opened her eyes; and, seeing Peter, she sat up.	But Peter put them all outside, and knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.	Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
41	And, having given her his hand, he raised her up; and, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.	And he gave her his hand and raised her up. Then, calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.	He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive.
42	And it became known throughout all Joppa; and many believed on the Lord.	And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.	This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.
43	And it came to pass that he abode many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.	And he stayed in Joppa for many days with one Simon, a tanner.	Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.
