3	But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart so that you lied to the holy Spirit and retained part of the price of the land?	But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?	Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?
4	While it remained unsold, did it not remain yours? And when it was sold, was it not still under your control? Why did you contrive this deed? You have lied not to human beings, but to God.”	While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to man but to God.”	Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

Listen, the footsteps of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”	But Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.”	Peter said to her, “How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”
10	At once, she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men entered they found her dead, so they carried her out and buried her beside her husband. Now when the high priest came, and those who were with him, they called together the council, all the senate of the people of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.	At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people. When the high priest and his associates arrived, they called together the Sanhedrin—the full assembly of the elders of Israel—and sent to the jail for the apostles.
22	But the court officers who went did not find them in the prison, so they came back and reported,	But when the officers came, they did not find them in the prison, so they returned and reported,	But on arriving at the jail, the officers did not find them there. So they went back and reported,

24	When they heard this report, the captain of the temple guard and the chief priests were at a loss about them, as to what this would come to. 25	Then someone came in and reported to them, “The men whom you put in prison are in the temple area and are teaching the people.”	And someone came and told them, “Look! 26	Then the captain and the court officers went and brought them in, but without force, because they were afraid of being stoned by the people. 28	“We gave you strict orders [did we not?] to stop teaching in that name. 29	But Peter and the apostles said in reply, “We must obey God rather than men.	But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.	Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!

31	God exalted him at his right hand as leader and savior to grant Israel repentance and forgiveness of sins. 36	Some time ago, Theudas appeared, claiming to be someone important, and about four hundred men joined him, but he was killed, and all those who were loyal to him were disbanded and came to nothing.	For before these days Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing.	Some time ago Theudas appeared, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men rallied to him. He was killed, all his followers were dispersed, and it all came to nothing.
37	After him came Judas the Galilean at the time of the census. He also drew people after him, but he too perished and all who were loyal to him were scattered. After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered.
38	So now I tell you, have nothing to do with these men, and let them go. For if this endeavor or this activity is of human origin, it will destroy itself.	So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or this undertaking is of man, it will fail;	Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.
39	But if it comes from God, you will not be able to destroy them; you may even find yourselves fighting against God.” They were persuaded by him.	but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You might even be found opposing God!” So they took his advice,	But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”
40	After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them.	and when they had called in the apostles, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.	His speech persuaded them. They called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41	So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.	Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.	The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.
42	And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Messiah, Jesus.	And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.	Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
