8 And how hear we, every man in our own language, wherein we were born? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?
9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in Judaea and Cappadocia, in Pontus and Asia, Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,

11 Cretans and Arabians, we do hear them speaking in our tongues the mighty works of God. both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”
12 And they were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, What meaneth this? And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
13 But others mocking said, They are filled with new wine. But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spake forth unto them, saying, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and give ear unto my words. But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose; seeing it is but the third hour of the day; For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning!
16 but this is that which hath been spoken by the prophet Joel; But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel: No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour forth of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams: “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; “’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18 Yea and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days Will I pour forth of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19 And I will shew wonders in the heaven above, And signs on the earth beneath; Blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God unto you by mighty works and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, even as ye yourselves know; “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.
23 him, being delivered up by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye by the hand of lawless men did crucify and slay: this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pangs of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in Hades, Neither wilt thou give thy Holy One to see corruption. For you will not abandon my soul to Hades, or let your Holy One see corruption. because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay.
28 Thou madest known unto me the ways of life; Thou shalt make me full of gladness with thy countenance. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’ You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’

33 Being therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear. 36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
40 And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation. And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”
41 They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added unto them in that day about three thousand souls. So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers. 46 And day by day, continuing stedfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they did take their food with gladness and singleness of heart, And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
47 praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to them day by day those that were being saved. praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
