עַל־
יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
When David
was old
and full of
years,
he installed his son
Solomon
as king
over
Israel.
So when David
was old
and full
of days,
he made Solomon
his son
king
over Israel.

Then he gathered
all
the leaders
of Israel,
as well as the priests
and Levites.
And he gathered together
all the princes
of Israel,
with the priests
and the Levites.

The Levites
thirty
years of age
or older
were counted,
and the total number
of men
was
38,000
Now the Levites
were numbered
from the age
of thirty
years
and upward:
and their number
by their polls,
man by man,
was thirty
and eight
thousand.

“Of these,” said David,

Of which,
twenty

David

for the service

in the courts,

of all holy things,
and the work

So the Levites were to carry out
the responsibilities
for the Tent
of Meeting
and
the Holy Place,
and, under
their brothers
the descendants
of Aaron,
the service

of the LORD.
And that they should keep

their brethren,
in the service
of the house
of the LORD.
