Psalm 94
NLT Parallel BSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationBerean Study Bible
O LORD, the God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, let your glorious justice shine forth!1O LORD, God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, shine forth.
Arise, O Judge of the earth. Give the proud what they deserve.2Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render a reward to the proud.
How long, O LORD? How long will the wicked be allowed to gloat?3How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked exult?
How long will they speak with arrogance? How long will these evil people boast?4They pour out arrogant words; all workers of iniquity boast.
They crush your people, LORD, hurting those you claim as your own.5They crush Your people, O LORD; they oppress Your heritage.
They kill widows and foreigners and murder orphans.6They kill the widow and the foreigner; they murder the fatherless.
“The LORD isn’t looking,” they say, “and besides, the God of Israel doesn’t care.”7They say, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed.”
Think again, you fools! When will you finally catch on?8Take notice, O senseless among the people! O fools, when will you be wise?
Is he deaf—the one who made your ears? Is he blind—the one who formed your eyes?9He who affixed the ear, can He not hear? He who formed the eye, can He not see?
He punishes the nations—won’t he also punish you? He knows everything—doesn’t he also know what you are doing?10He who admonishes the nations, does He not discipline? He who teaches man, does He lack knowledge?
The LORD knows people’s thoughts; he knows they are worthless!11The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.
Joyful are those you discipline, LORD, those you teach with your instructions.12Blessed is the man You discipline, O LORD, and teach from Your law,
You give them relief from troubled times until a pit is dug to capture the wicked.13to grant him relief from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.
The LORD will not reject his people; he will not abandon his special possession.14For the LORD will not forsake His people; He will never abandon His heritage.
Judgment will again be founded on justice, and those with virtuous hearts will pursue it.15Surely judgment will again be righteous, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Who will protect me from the wicked? Who will stand up for me against evildoers?16Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand for me against the workers of iniquity?
Unless the LORD had helped me, I would soon have settled in the silence of the grave.17Unless the LORD had been my helper, I would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence.
I cried out, “I am slipping!” but your unfailing love, O LORD, supported me.18If I say, “My foot is slipping,” Your loving devotion, O LORD, supports me.
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.19When anxiety overwhelms me, Your consolation delights my soul.
Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side— leaders whose decrees permit injustice?20Can a corrupt throne be Your ally—one devising mischief by decree?
They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.21They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.
But the LORD is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide.22But the LORD has been my stronghold, and my God is my rock of refuge.
God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The LORD our God will destroy them.23He will bring upon them their own iniquity and destroy them for their wickedness. The LORD our God will destroy them.
