For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph. My voice rises to God, and I will cry aloud; My voice rises to God, and He will hear me.1For the choir director: according to Jeduthun. Of Asaph. A psalm. I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and He will hear me.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; In the night my hand was stretched out without weariness; My soul refused to be comforted.2I sought the Lord in my day of trouble. My hands were continually lifted up all night long; I refused to be comforted.
When I remember God, then I am disturbed; When I sigh, then my spirit grows faint. Selah.3I think of God; I groan; I meditate; my spirit becomes weak. Selah
You have held my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.4You have kept me from closing my eyes; I am troubled and cannot speak.
I have considered the days of old, The years of long ago.5I consider days of old, years long past.
I will remember my song in the night; I will meditate with my heart, And my spirit ponders:6At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders."
Will the Lord reject forever? And will He never be favorable again?7Will the Lord reject forever and never again show favor?
Has His lovingkindness ceased forever? Has His promise come to an end forever?8Has His faithful love ceased forever? Is His promise at an end for all generations?
Has God forgotten to be gracious, Or has He in anger withdrawn His compassion? Selah.9Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger withheld His compassion?" Selah
Then I said, "It is my grief, That the right hand of the Most High has changed."10So I say, "I am grieved that the right hand of the Most High has changed."
I shall remember the deeds of the LORD; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.11I will remember the LORD's works; yes, I will remember Your ancient wonders.
I will meditate on all Your work And muse on Your deeds.12I will reflect on all You have done and meditate on Your actions.
Your way, O God, is holy; What god is great like our God?13God, Your way is holy. What god is great like God?
You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your strength among the peoples.14You are the God who works wonders; You revealed Your strength among the peoples.
You have by Your power redeemed Your people, The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.15With power You redeemed Your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
The waters saw You, O God; The waters saw You, they were in anguish; The deeps also trembled.16The waters saw You, God. The waters saw You; they trembled. Even the depths shook.
The clouds poured out water; The skies gave forth a sound; Your arrows flashed here and there.17The clouds poured down water. The storm clouds thundered; Your arrows flashed back and forth.
The sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; The lightnings lit up the world; The earth trembled and shook.18The sound of Your thunder was in the whirlwind; lightning lit up the world. The earth shook and quaked.
Your way was in the sea And Your paths in the mighty waters, And Your footprints may not be known.19Your way went through the sea and Your path through the great waters, but Your footprints were unseen.
You led Your people like a flock By the hand of Moses and Aaron.20You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
