2 oath of ׳י, in promise, Deuteronomy 7:8 (שָׁמַר in rel. clause), "" covenant (בְּרִית), שְׁבוּעַתוֺ לְיִצְחָק Psalm 105:9 = 1 Chronicles 16:16. — שְׁבֻעוֺת מַטּוֺת Habakkuk 3:9 very dubious: AV oaths of the tribes; oaths, rods of the word, Hi-St; sworn (passive participle שְׁבַע) were the rods ( = chastisements) of (thy) word, Ges Hi RVm; heptads of spears Ew, compare Da; text probably corrupt, Now proposes שִׂבַּעְתָּ (אַשְׁמָּֽתְךָׅ thou hast sated with shafts thy quiver; Marti (after ᵐ5^Manuscripts) thy bow was satiated with shafts; GASm thou gluttest (?) thy shafts. — Ezekiel 21:28 see √.
