4For they did not come to meet you with bread and water on your way when you came out of Egypt, and they hired Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim to pronounce a curse on you.4because they did not meet you with bread and with water on the way, when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.4because they did not meet you with food and water on the way when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.4Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.4This is because they did not meet you with food and water on the journey after you came out of Egypt, and because Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram-naharaim was hired to curse you.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
5However, the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam but turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you.5But the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam; instead the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loved you.5"Nevertheless, the LORD your God was not willing to listen to Balaam, but the LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the LORD your God loves you.5Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.5Yet the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam, but He turned the curse into a blessing for you because the LORD your God loves you.

7Do not despise an Edomite, for the Edomites are related to you. Do not despise an Egyptian, because you resided as foreigners in their country.7“You shall not abhor an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not abhor an Egyptian, because you were a sojourner in his land.7"You shall not detest an Edomite, for he is your brother; you shall not detest an Egyptian, because you were an alien in his land.7Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.7Do not despise an Edomite, because he is your brother. Do not despise an Egyptian, because you were a foreign resident in his land.

Uncleanness in the Camp

(Leviticus 15:1-12)

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
9When you are encamped against your enemies, keep away from everything impure.9“When you are encamped against your enemies, then you shall keep yourself from every evil thing.9"When you go out as an army against your enemies, you shall keep yourself from every evil thing.9When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.9When you are encamped against your enemies, be careful to avoid anything offensive.
10If one of your men is unclean because of a nocturnal emission, he is to go outside the camp and stay there.10“If any man among you becomes unclean because of a nocturnal emission, then he shall go outside the camp. He shall not come inside the camp,10"If there is among you any man who is unclean because of a nocturnal emission, then he must go outside the camp; he may not reenter the camp.10If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:10If there is a man among you who is unclean because of a bodily emission during the night, he must go outside the camp; he may not come anywhere inside the camp.
11But as evening approaches he is to wash himself, and at sunset he may return to the camp.11but when evening comes, he shall bathe himself in water, and as the sun sets, he may come inside the camp.11"But it shall be when evening approaches, he shall bathe himself with water, and at sundown he may reenter the camp.11But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.11When evening approaches, he must wash with water, and when the sun sets he may come inside the camp.
12Designate a place outside the camp where you can go to relieve yourself.12“You shall have a place outside the camp, and you shall go out to it.12"You shall also have a place outside the camp and go out there,12Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:12You must have a place outside the camp and go there to relieve yourself.
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
13As part of your equipment have something to dig with, and when you relieve yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement.13And you shall have a trowel with your tools, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up your excrement.13and you shall have a spade among your tools, and it shall be when you sit down outside, you shall dig with it and shall turn to cover up your excrement.13And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:13You must have a digging tool in your equipment; when you relieve yourself, dig a hole with it and cover up your excrement.
14For the LORD your God moves about in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you.14Because the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and to give up your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.14"Since the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp to deliver you and to defeat your enemies before you, therefore your camp must be holy; and He must not see anything indecent among you or He will turn away from you.14For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.14For the LORD your God walks throughout your camp to protect you and deliver your enemies to you; so your encampments must be holy. He must not see anything improper among you or He will turn away from you."

Miscellaneous Laws

NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
15If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand them over to their master.15“You shall not give up to his master a slave who has escaped from his master to you.15"You shall not hand over to his master a slave who has escaped from his master to you.15Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:15Do not return a slave to his master when he has escaped from his master to you.
16Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.16He shall dwell with you, in your midst, in the place that he shall choose within one of your towns, wherever it suits him. You shall not wrong him.16"He shall live with you in your midst, in the place which he shall choose in one of your towns where it pleases him; you shall not mistreat him.16He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.16Let him live among you wherever he wants within your gates. Do not mistreat him."
17No Israelite man or woman is to become a shrine prostitute.17“None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, and none of the sons of Israel shall be a cult prostitute.17"None of the daughters of Israel shall be a cult prostitute, nor shall any of the sons of Israel be a cult prostitute.17There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.17No Israelite woman is to be a cult prostitute, and no Israelite man is to be a cult prostitute.
18You must not bring the earnings of a female prostitute or of a male prostitute into the house of the LORD your God to pay any vow, because the LORD your God detests them both.18You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the wages of a dog into the house of the LORD your God in payment for any vow, for both of these are an abomination to the LORD your God.18"You shall not bring the hire of a harlot or the wages of a dog into the house of the LORD your God for any votive offering, for both of these are an abomination to the LORD your God.18Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.18Do not bring a female prostitute's wages or a male prostitute's earnings into the house of the LORD your God to fulfill any vow, because both are detestable to the LORD your God."
NIVESVNASBKJVHCSB
19Do not charge a fellow Israelite interest, whether on money or food or anything else that may earn interest.19“You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.19"You shall not charge interest to your countrymen: interest on money, food, or anything that may be loaned at interest.19Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:19Do not charge your brother interest on money, food, or anything that can earn interest.
20You may charge a foreigner interest, but not a fellow Israelite, so that the LORD your God may bless you in everything you put your hand to in the land you are entering to possess.20You may charge a foreigner interest, but you may not charge your brother interest, that the LORD your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.20"You may charge interest to a foreigner, but to your countrymen you shall not charge interest, so that the LORD your God may bless you in all that you undertake in the land which you are about to enter to possess.20Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.20You may charge a foreigner interest, but you must not charge your brother interest, so that the LORD your God may bless you in everything you do in the land you are entering to possess."
21If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the LORD your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.21“If you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the LORD your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin.21"When you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for it would be sin in you, and the LORD your God will surely require it of you.21When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.21If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to keep it, because He will require it of you, and it will be counted against you as sin.
22But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty.22But if you refrain from vowing, you will not be guilty of sin.22"However, if you refrain from vowing, it would not be sin in you.22But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.22But if you refrain from making a vow, it will not be counted against you as sin.
23Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the LORD your God with your own mouth.23You shall be careful to do what has passed your lips, for you have voluntarily vowed to the LORD your God what you have promised with your mouth.23"You shall be careful to perform what goes out from your lips, just as you have voluntarily vowed to the LORD your God, what you have promised.23That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.23Be careful to do whatever comes from your lips, because you have freely vowed what you promised to the LORD your God."

24If you enter your neighbor's vineyard, you may eat all the grapes you want, but do not put any in your basket.24“If you go into your neighbor’s vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, as many as you wish, but you shall not put any in your bag.24"When you enter your neighbor's vineyard, then you may eat grapes until you are fully satisfied, but you shall not put any in your basket.24When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.24When you enter your neighbor's vineyard, you may eat as many grapes as you want until you are full, but you must not put any in your container.
25If you enter your neighbor's grainfield, you may pick kernels with your hands, but you must not put a sickle to their standing grain.25If you go into your neighbor’s standing grain, you may pluck the ears with your hand, but you shall not put a sickle to your neighbor’s standing grain.25"When you enter your neighbor's standing grain, then you may pluck the heads with your hand, but you shall not wield a sickle in your neighbor's standing grain.25When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.25When you enter your neighbor's standing grain, you may pluck heads of grain with your hand, but you must not put a sickle to your neighbor's grain."
