1 God remembered Noah, as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water began to subside. But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided. But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.
2 The sources of the watery depths and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the rain from the sky stopped. The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained, Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky.
3 The water steadily receded from the earth, and by the end of 150 days the water had decreased significantly. and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of 150 days the waters had abated, The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down,
4 The ark came to rest in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
5 The water continued to recede until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were visible. And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen. So he put out his hand and took her and brought her into the ark with him. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. 10 So Noah waited seven more days and sent out the dove from the ark again. He waited another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.
11 When the dove came to him at evening, there was a plucked olive leaf in its beak. So Noah knew that the water on the earth’s surface had gone down. And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.
12 After he had waited another seven days, he sent out the dove, but it did not return to him again. Then he waited another seven days and sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him anymore. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.
13 In the six hundred first year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the water that had covered the earth was dried up. Then Noah removed the ark’s cover and saw that the surface of the ground was drying. In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry. By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.
14 By the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was dry. In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried out. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.
15 Then God spoke to Noah, Then God said to Noah, Then God said to Noah,
16 “Come out of the ark, you, your wife, your sons, and your sons’ wives with you. “Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.
17 Bring out all the living creatures that are with you—birds, livestock, those that crawl on the earth—and they will spread over the earth and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.”
18 So Noah, along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, came out. So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.
19 All the animals, all the creatures that crawl, and all the flying creatures—everything that moves on the earth—came out of the ark by their families. Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark. All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
22 As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.” While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
