1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind pass over the earth, and the waters subsided. But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided. But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.
2 And the fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, and the rain from the heavens was restrained. The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained, Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky.
3 And the waters turned back from the earth, going and returning, and the waters decreased at the end of fifty and a hundred days. and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of 150 days the waters had abated, The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down,
4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seven and tenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat. and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
5 And the waters were going and decreasing until the tenth month, and in the tenth month on the first of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen. And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen. The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days that Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made, At the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark
7 and he sent forth the raven and it went out, going out and returning, until the waters had dried up from the earth. and sent forth a raven. 8 And he sent forth the dove from himself to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground. Then he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground. Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground.
9 And the dove did not find a resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned to him in the ark; for the waters were still on the face of all the earth. And he stretched out his hand and took her, and brought her to himself in the ark. But the dove found no place to set her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her and brought her into the ark with him. But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark.
10 And he waited yet another seven days, and he again sent forth the dove from the ark. He waited another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark. He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.
11 And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth. And Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth. When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.
12 And he waited yet another seven days and he sent forth the dove, and she did not continue to return to him again. Then he waited another seven days and sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him anymore. He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.
13 And it came to pass in the one and six hundredth year, in the first month, on the first of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark, and he looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry. In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry. By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.
14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, the earth was dried. In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried out. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.
15 And God spoke to Noah, saying, Then God said to Noah, Then God said to Noah,
16 “Go forth from the ark, you, and your wife, and your sons, and the wives of your sons with you. “Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.
17 Every living thing that is with you—all flesh, the bird, and the livestock, and every crawling thing that crawls on the earth—bring out with you, and let them swarm on the earth and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.”
18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and the wives of his sons with him. So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.
19 And every animal, every crawling thing, every bird, and everything that moves on the earth, according to their families, they went forth from the ark. Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark. All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.
20 And Noah built an altar to YHWH. And he took from every clean animal and from every clean bird, and he offered burnt offerings on the altar. Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.
21 And YHWH smelled the pleasing aroma, and YHWH said in His heart, “I will not continue to curse anymore the ground on account of mankind, though the inclination of the heart of man is evil from his youth. I will not continue anymore to destroy every living thing, as I have done. And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
22 Throughout all the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”
