1 These are the records of the generations (descendants) of Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah; and the sons born to them after the flood: These are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood. This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah’s sons, who themselves had sons after the flood.
2 the sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras; The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshek and Tiras.

5 From these, [the people of] the coastlands of the nations were separated and spread into their lands, every one according to his own language, according to their constituent groups (families), and into their nations: From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each with his own language, by their clans, in their nations. (From these the maritime peoples spread out into their territories by their clans within their nations, each with its own language.)
6 the sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim [from whom descended the Egyptians], Put, and Canaan; The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put and Canaan.
7 the sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah; Sheba and Dedan. The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. 8 Cush became the father of Nimrod; he became a mighty one on the earth. Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man. Cush was the father of Nimrod, who became a mighty warrior on the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.” He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.” He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.”
10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel and Erech and Accad and Calneh, in the land of Shinar [in Babylonia]. The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon, Uruk, Akkad and Kalneh, in Shinar.
11 From that land Nimrod went to Assyria, and built Nineveh, and Rehoboth-Ir, and Calah, From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, and From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah

16 and the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite and the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,
17 and the Hivite and the Arkite and the Sinite the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,
18 and the Arvadite and the Zemarite and the Hamathite. Afterward the families of the Canaanite were spread abroad. the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the clans of the Canaanites dispersed. Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later the Canaanite clans scattered
19 The territory of the Canaanite extended from Sidon as one goes to Gerar, as far as Gaza; and as one goes to Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. And the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon in the direction of Gerar as far as Gaza, and in the direction of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. and the borders of Canaan reached from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim, as far as Lasha.
20 These are the descendants of Ham according to their constituent groups, according to their languages, by their lands, and by their nations. These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
21 Also to Shem, the father of all the children of Eber [including the Hebrews], the older brother of Japheth, children were born. To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born. Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber.
22 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud and Aram; The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram. The sons of Shem: Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
23 the sons of Aram [ancestor of the Syrians]: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek.
24 Arpachshad became the father of Shelah; and Shelah became the father of Eber. Arpachshad fathered Shelah; and Shelah fathered Eber. Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber.
25 Two sons were born to Eber; the name of one was Peleg (division), for [the inhabitants of] the earth were divided in his days; and his brother’s name was Joktan. To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan. Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.
26 Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 and Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

30 Now their territory extended from Mesha as one goes toward Sephar, to the hill country of the east. 31 These are Shem’s descendants according to their constituent groups (families), according to their languages, by their lands, according to their nations. These are the sons of Shem, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.
32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their descendants, by their nations; and from these [people] the nations were separated and spread abroad on the earth after the flood. These are the clans of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, in their nations, and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood. These are the clans of Noah’s sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.
