1 And all the multitude of the children of Israel being gathered together, he said to them: These are the things which the Lord hath commanded to be done. Moses assembled all the congregation of the people of Israel and said to them, “These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do. Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, “These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do:
2 Six days you shall do work: the seventh day shall be holy unto you, the sabbath, and the rest of the Lord: he that shall do any work on it, shall be put to death. Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.
3 You shall kindle no fire in any of your habitations on the sabbath day. You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.” Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.”
4 And Moses said to all the assembly of the children of Israel: This is the word the Lord hath commanded, saying: Moses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, “This is the thing that the LORD has commanded. Moses said to the whole Israelite community, “This is what the LORD has commanded:
5 Set aside with you firstfuits to the Lord. Let every one that is willing and hath a ready heart, offer them to the Lord: gold, and silver, and brass, Take from among you a contribution to the LORD. Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the LORD’s contribution: gold, silver, and bronze; From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze;
6 Violet and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen, goats' hair, blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen; goats’ hair, blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;
7 And rams' skins dyed red, and violet coloured skins, setim wood, tanned rams’ skins, and goatskins; acacia wood, ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood;
8 And oil to maintain lights, and to make ointment, and most sweet incense. oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;
9 Onyx stones, and precious stones, for the adorning of the ephod and the rational. and onyx stones and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
10 Whosoever of you is wise, let him come, and make that which the Lord hath commanded: “Let every skillful craftsman among you come and make all that the LORD has commanded: “All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the LORD has commanded:
11 To wit, the tabernacle and the roof thereof, and the cover, the rings, and the board work with the oars, the pillars, and the sockets: the tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; the tabernacle with its tent and its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;
12 The ark and the staves, the propitiatory, and the veil that is drawn before it: the ark with its poles, the mercy seat, and the veil of the screen; the ark with its poles and the atonement cover and the curtain that shields it;
13 The table with the bars and the vessels, and the loaves of proposition: the table with its poles and all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence; the table with its poles and all its articles and the bread of the Presence;
14 The candlestick to bear up the lights, the vessels thereof and the lamps, and the oil for the nourishing of fires: the lampstand also for the light, with its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light; the lampstand that is for light with its accessories, lamps and oil for the light;
15 The altar of incense, and the bars, and the oil of unction and the incense of spices: the hanging at the door of the tabernacle: and the altar of incense, with its poles, and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the screen for the door, at the door of the tabernacle; the altar of incense with its poles, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle;
16 The altar of holocaust, and its grate of brass, with the bars and vessels thereof: the laver and its foot: the altar of burnt offering, with its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils, the basin and its stand; the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the bronze basin with its stand;
17 The curtains of the court with the pillars and the sockets, the hanging in the doors of the entry, the hangings of the court, its pillars and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court; the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard;
18 The pins of the tabernacle and of the court with their little cords: the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court, and their cords; the tent pegs for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, and their ropes;
19 The vestments that are to be used in the ministry of the sanctuary, the vesture of Aaron the high priest, and of his sons, to do the office of priesthood to me. the finely worked garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests.” the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary—both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests.”
20 And all the multitude of the children of Israel going out from the presence of Moses, Then all the congregation of the people of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses’ presence,
21 Offered firstfruits to the Lord with a most ready and devout mind, to make the work of the tabernacle of the testimony. Whatsoever was necessary to the service, and to the holy vestments, And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him, and everyone whose spirit moved him, and brought the LORD’s contribution to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments. and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.
22 Both men and women gave bracelets and earrings, rings and tablets: every vessel of gold was set aside to be offered to the Lord. So they came, both men and women. All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the LORD. All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.
23 If any man had violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, fine linen and goats' hair, rams' skins dyed red, and violet coloured skins, And every one who possessed blue or purple or scarlet yarns or fine linen or goats’ hair or tanned rams’ skins or goatskins brought them. Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or the other durable leather brought them.
24 Metal of silver and brass, they offered it to the Lord, and setim wood for divers uses. Everyone who could make a contribution of silver or bronze brought it as the LORD’s contribution. And every one who possessed acacia wood of any use in the work brought it. Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it.
25 The skilful women also gave such things as they had spun, violet, purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, And every skillful woman spun with her hands, and they all brought what they had spun in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun—blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen.
26 And goats' hair, giving all of their own accord. All the women whose hearts stirred them to use their skill spun the goats’ hair. And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair.
27 But the princes offered onyx stone, and precious stones, for the ephod and the rational, And the leaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set, for the ephod and for the breastpiece, The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
28 And spices and oil for the lights, and for the preparing of ointment, and to make the incense of most sweet savour. and spices and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. They also brought spices and olive oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.
29 All both men and women with devout mind offered gifts, that the works might be done which the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses. All the children of Israel dedicated voluntary offerings to the Lord. All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the LORD had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the LORD. All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do.
30 And Moses said to the children of Israel: Behold the Lord hath called by name Beseleel the son of Uri the son of Hur of the tribe of Juda. Then Moses said to the people of Israel, “See, the LORD has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
31 And hath filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom and understanding and knowledge and all learning. and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—
32 To devise and to work in gold and silver and brass, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze, to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,
33 And in engraving stones, and in carpenters' work. Whatsoever can be devised artificially, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every skilled craft. to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.
34 He hath given in his heart: Ooliab also the son of Achisamech of the tribe of Dan: And he has inspired him to teach, both him and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan. And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.
35 Both of them hath he instructed with wisdom, to do carpenters' work and tapestry, and embroidery in blue and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine linen, and to weave all things, and to invent all new things. He has filled them with skill to do every sort of work done by an engraver or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, or by a weaver—by any sort of workman or skilled designer. He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.
