וַיְהִי֙

וַיַּ֥ךְ
דָּוִ֛יד

וַיַּכְנִיעֵ֑ם
וַיִּקַּ֛ח

פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
Some time later,
David
defeated
the Philistines,
subdued them,
and took
Gath
and its villages
from the hand
of the Philistines.
Now after this
it came to pass, that David
smote
the Philistines,
and subdued
them, and took
Gath
and her towns
out of the hand
of the Philistines.

David also defeated
the Moabites,
and they
became
subject
to David
and brought him
tribute.
And he smote
Moab;
and the Moabites
became David's
servants,
[and] brought
gifts.

As far as Hamath,
David
also defeated
King
Hadadezer
of Zobah,
who had marched out
to establish
his dominion
along the Euphrates
River.
And David
smote
Hadarezer
king
of Zobah
unto Hamath,
as he went
to stablish
his dominion
by the river
Euphrates.

David
captured
from him
a thousand
chariots,
seven
thousand
charioteers,
and twenty
thousand
foot soldiers,
and he hamstrung
all
the horses
except a hundred
he kept
for the chariots.
And David
took
from him a thousand
chariots,
and seven
thousand
horsemen,
and twenty
thousand
footmen:
David
also houghed
all the chariot
[horses], but reserved
of them an hundred
chariots.

When the Arameans
of Damascus
came
to help
King
Hadadezer
of Zobah,
David
struck down
twenty-two
thousand
men.
And when the Syrians
of Damascus
came
to help
Hadarezer
king
of Zobah,
David
slew
of the Syrians
two
and twenty
thousand
men.

Then he
placed garrisons
in Aram
of Damascus,
and the Arameans
became
subject

So the LORD
made David
victorious
wherever
he went.
Then David
put
[garrisons] in Syriadamascus;
and the Syrians
became David's
servants,
[and] brought
gifts.
Thus the LORD
preserved
David
whithersoever he went.
