But the LORD saw that the oldest son, Er, was a wicked man, so he killed him. | 3Judah's sons: Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by Bath-shua the Canaanite woman. Er, Judah's firstborn, was evil in the LORD's sight, so He put him to death. |

18Hezron’s son Caleb had sons from his wife Azubah and from Jerioth. Her sons were named Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. | 18Caleb son of Hezron had children by his wife Azubah and by Jerioth. These were Azubah's sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. |
19After Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrathah, and they had a son named Hur. | 19When Azubah died, Caleb married Ephrath, and she bore Hur to him. |
20Hur was the father of Uri. Uri was the father of Bezalel. | 20Hur fathered Uri, and Uri fathered Bezalel. |
21When Hezron was sixty years old, he married Gilead’s sister, the daughter of Makir. They had a son named Segub. | 21After this, Hezron slept with the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead. Hezron had married her when he was 60 years old, and she bore Segub to him. |

23(But Geshur and Aram captured the Towns of Jair and also took Kenath and its sixty surrounding villages.) 34Sheshan had no sons, though he did have daughters. He also had an Egyptian servant named Jarha. | 34Sheshan had no sons, only daughters, but he did have an Egyptian servant whose name was Jarha. |
