Psalm 60
NLT Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationEnglish Standard Version
You have rejected us, O God, and broken our defenses. You have been angry with us; now restore us to your favor.1O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses; you have been angry; oh, restore us.
You have shaken our land and split it open. Seal the cracks, for the land trembles.2You have made the land to quake; you have torn it open; repair its breaches, for it totters.
You have been very hard on us, making us drink wine that sent us reeling.3You have made your people see hard things; you have given us wine to drink that made us stagger.
But you have raised a banner for those who fear you— a rallying point in the face of attack. Interlude4You have set up a banner for those who fear you, that they may flee to it from the bow. Selah
Now rescue your beloved people. Answer and save us by your power.5That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer us!
God has promised this by his holiness : “I will divide up Shechem with joy. I will measure out the valley of Succoth.6God has spoken in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Vale of Succoth.
Gilead is mine, and Manasseh, too. Ephraim, my helmet, will produce my warriors, and Judah, my scepter, will produce my kings.7Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet; Judah is my scepter.
But Moab, my washbasin, will become my servant, and I will wipe my feet on Edom and shout in triumph over Philistia.”8Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”
Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will bring me victory over Edom?9Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
Have you rejected us, O God? Will you no longer march with our armies?10Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go forth, O God, with our armies.
Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless.11Oh, grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man!
With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes.12With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes.
