Then Moses called together the whole community of Israel and told them, “These are the instructions the LORD has commanded you to follow.1Then Moses assembled the whole congregation of Israel and said to them, “These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do:
You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day must be a Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day dedicated to the LORD. Anyone who works on that day must be put to death.2For six days work may be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on that day must be put to death.
You must not even light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath.” Offerings for the Tabernacle3Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.”
Then Moses said to the whole community of Israel, “This is what the LORD has commanded:4Moses also told the whole congregation of Israel, “This is what the LORD has commanded:
Take a sacred offering for the LORD. Let those with generous hearts present the following gifts to the LORD: gold, silver, and bronze;5Take from among you an offering to the LORD. Let everyone whose heart is willing bring an offering to the LORD: gold, silver, and bronze;
blue, purple, and scarlet thread; fine linen and goat hair for cloth;6blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair;
tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather; acacia wood;7ram skins dyed red and fine leather; acacia wood;
olive oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and the fragrant incense;8olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;
onyx stones, and other gemstones to be set in the ephod and the priest’s chestpiece.9and onyx stones and gemstones to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.
“Come, all of you who are gifted craftsmen. Construct everything that the LORD has commanded:10Let every skilled craftsman among you come and make everything that the LORD has commanded:
the Tabernacle and its sacred tent, its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts, and bases;11the tabernacle with its tent and covering, its clasps and frames, its crossbars, posts, and bases;
the Ark and its carrying poles; the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement; the inner curtain to shield the Ark;12the ark with its poles and mercy seat, and the veil to shield it;
the table, its carrying poles, and all its utensils; the Bread of the Presence;13the table with its poles, all its utensils, and the Bread of the Presence;
for light, the lampstand, its accessories, the lamp cups, and the olive oil for lighting;14the lampstand for light with its accessories and lamps and oil for the light;
the incense altar and its carrying poles; the anointing oil and fragrant incense; the curtain for the entrance of the Tabernacle;15the altar of incense with its poles; the anointing oil and fragrant incense; the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle;
the altar of burnt offering; the bronze grating of the altar and its carrying poles and utensils; the washbasin with its stand;16the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grate, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;
the curtains for the walls of the courtyard; the posts and their bases; the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard;17the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the gate of the courtyard;
the tent pegs of the Tabernacle and courtyard and their ropes;18the tent pegs for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, along with their ropes;
the beautifully stitched garments for the priests to wear while ministering in the Holy Place—the sacred garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to wear as they minister as priests.”19and the woven garments for ministering in the holy place—both the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons to serve as priests.”
So the whole community of Israel left Moses and returned to their tents.20Then the whole congregation of Israel withdrew from the presence of Moses.
All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the LORD. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle, for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred garments.21And everyone whose heart stirred him and whose spirit prompted him came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the Tent of Meeting, for all its services, and for the holy garments.
Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing. They brought to the LORD their offerings of gold—brooches, earrings, rings from their fingers, and necklaces. They presented gold objects of every kind as a special offering to the LORD.22So all who had willing hearts, both men and women, came and brought brooches and earrings, rings and necklaces, and all kinds of gold jewelry. And they all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.
All those who owned the following items willingly brought them: blue, purple, and scarlet thread; fine linen and goat hair for cloth; and tanned ram skins and fine goatskin leather.23Everyone who had blue, purple, or scarlet yarn, or fine linen, goat hair, ram skins dyed red, or articles of fine leather, brought them.
And all who had silver and bronze objects gave them as a sacred offering to the LORD. And those who had acacia wood brought it for use in the project.24And all who could present an offering of silver or bronze brought it as a contribution to the LORD. Also, everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the service brought it.
All the women who were skilled in sewing and spinning prepared blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen cloth.25Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun: blue, purple, or scarlet yarn, or fine linen.
All the women who were willing used their skills to spin the goat hair into yarn.26And all the skilled women whose hearts were stirred spun the goat hair.
The leaders brought onyx stones and the special gemstones to be set in the ephod and the priest’s chestpiece.27The leaders brought onyx stones and gemstones to mount on the ephod and breastpiece,
They also brought spices and olive oil for the light, the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense.28as well as spices and olive oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense.
So the people of Israel—every man and woman who was eager to help in the work the LORD had given them through Moses—brought their gifts and gave them freely to the LORD.29So all the men and women of the Israelites whose hearts prompted them brought a freewill offering to the LORD for all the work that the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do.
Then Moses told the people of Israel, “The LORD has specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.30Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the LORD has called by name Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.
The LORD has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts.31And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability, and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship,
He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze.32to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze,
He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft.33to cut gemstones for settings, and to carve wood, so that he may be a master of every artistic craft.
And the LORD has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their skills to others.34And the LORD has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.
The LORD has given them special skills as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth, and weavers. They excel as craftsmen and as designers.35He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and as weavers—as artistic designers of every kind of craft.
