| 1Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, | 1Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. |
| 2who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. | 2He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God's house. |

| 11So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ” | 11So I declared on oath in my anger, 'They shall never enter my rest.'" |
| 12Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; | 12See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. |
| 13but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. | 13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today," so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. |

| 16For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? | 16Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? |
| 17Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? | 17And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? |
| 18And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? | 18And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? |
| 19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. | 19So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief. |
