And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand.1He entered again into a synagogue; and a man was there whose hand was withered.
So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.2They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
And He said to the man who had the withered hand, “Step forward.”3He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and come forward!"
Then He said to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.4And He said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?" But they kept silent.
And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.5After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.6The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him.
But Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea. And a great multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea7Jesus withdrew to the sea with His disciples; and a great multitude from Galilee followed; and also from Judea,
and Jerusalem and Idumea and beyond the Jordan; and those from Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they heard how many things He was doing, came to Him.8and from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and beyond the Jordan, and the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon, a great number of people heard of all that He was doing and came to Him.
So He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept ready for Him because of the multitude, lest they should crush Him.9And He told His disciples that a boat should stand ready for Him because of the crowd, so that they would not crowd Him;
For He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him.10for He had healed many, with the result that all those who had afflictions pressed around Him in order to touch Him.
And the unclean spirits, whenever they saw Him, fell down before Him and cried out, saying, “You are the Son of God.”11Whenever the unclean spirits saw Him, they would fall down before Him and shout, "You are the Son of God!"
But He sternly warned them that they should not make Him known.12And He earnestly warned them not to tell who He was.
And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him.13And He went up on the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him.
Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach,14And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach,
and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:15and to have authority to cast out the demons.
Simon, to whom He gave the name Peter;16And He appointed the twelve: Simon (to whom He gave the name Peter),
James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James, to whom He gave the name Boanerges, that is, “Sons of Thunder”;17and James, the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James (to them He gave the name Boanerges, which means, "Sons of Thunder ");
Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Cananite;18and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot;
and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. And they went into a house.19and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Him.
Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.20And He came home, and the crowd gathered again, to such an extent that they could not even eat a meal.
But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.”21When His own people heard of this, they went out to take custody of Him; for they were saying, "He has lost His senses."
And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.”22The scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, "He is possessed by Beelzebul," and "He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons."
So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan?23And He called them to Himself and began speaking to them in parables, "How can Satan cast out Satan?
If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.24"If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.25"If a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.
And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.26"If Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but he is finished!
No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.27"But no one can enter the strong man's house and plunder his property unless he first binds the strong man, and then he will plunder his house.
“Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter;28"Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter;
but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation” —29but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin "--
because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”30because they were saying, "He has an unclean spirit."
Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.31Then His mother and His brothers arrived, and standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him.
And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.”32A crowd was sitting around Him, and they said to Him, "Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You."
But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?”33Answering them, He said, "Who are My mother and My brothers?"
And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!34Looking about at those who were sitting around Him, He said, "Behold My mother and My brothers!
For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”35"For whoever does the will of God, he is My brother and sister and mother."
