A psalm of praise. Of David. I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. | 1I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. |
Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. | 2Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. |
Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. | 3Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable. |
One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. | 4One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. |
They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty-- and I will meditate on your wonderful works. | 5On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. |
They tell of the power of your awesome works-- and I will proclaim your great deeds. | 6They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. |
They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. | 7They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness. |
The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. | 8The LORD is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. |
The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. | 9The LORD is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made. |
All your works praise you, LORD; your faithful people extol you. | 10All your works shall give thanks to you, O LORD, and all your saints shall bless you! |
They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, | 11They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power, |
so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. | 12to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. |
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. | 13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations. [The LORD is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.] |
The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. | 14The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. |
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. | 15The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season. |
You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. | 16You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing. |
The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. | 17The LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works. |
The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. | 18The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. |
He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. | 19He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. |
The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. | 20The LORD preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. |
My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever. | 21My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever. |
