1Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, "These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do:1Moses assembled all the congregation of the people of Israel and said to them, “These are the things that the LORD has commanded you to do.
2For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death.2Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.
3Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day."3You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.”
4Moses said to the whole Israelite community, "This is what the LORD has commanded:4Moses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, “This is the thing that the LORD has commanded.
5From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze;5Take from among you a contribution to the LORD. Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the LORD’s contribution: gold, silver, and bronze;
6blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;6blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen; goats’ hair,
7ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather; acacia wood;7tanned rams’ skins, and goatskins; acacia wood,
8olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;8oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense,
9and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.9and onyx stones and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
10"All who are skilled among you are to come and make everything the LORD has commanded:10“Let every skillful craftsman among you come and make all that the LORD has commanded:
11the tabernacle with its tent and its covering, clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;11the tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases;
12the ark with its poles and the atonement cover and the curtain that shields it;12the ark with its poles, the mercy seat, and the veil of the screen;
13the table with its poles and all its articles and the bread of the Presence;13the table with its poles and all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence;
14the lampstand that is for light with its accessories, lamps and oil for the light;14the lampstand also for the light, with its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light;
15the altar of incense with its poles, the anointing oil and the fragrant incense; the curtain for the doorway at the entrance to the tabernacle;15and the altar of incense, with its poles, and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the screen for the door, at the door of the tabernacle;
16the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the bronze basin with its stand;16the altar of burnt offering, with its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils, the basin and its stand;
17the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard;17the hangings of the court, its pillars and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court;
18the tent pegs for the tabernacle and for the courtyard, and their ropes;18the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court, and their cords;
19the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary--both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests."19the finely worked garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests.”
20Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses' presence,20Then all the congregation of the people of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.
21and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments.21And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him, and everyone whose spirit moved him, and brought the LORD’s contribution to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments.
22All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.22So they came, both men and women. All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the LORD.
23Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or the other durable leather brought them.23And every one who possessed blue or purple or scarlet yarns or fine linen or goats’ hair or tanned rams’ skins or goatskins brought them.
24Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it.24Everyone who could make a contribution of silver or bronze brought it as the LORD’s contribution. And every one who possessed acacia wood of any use in the work brought it.
25Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun--blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen.25And every skillful woman spun with her hands, and they all brought what they had spun in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen.
26And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair.26All the women whose hearts stirred them to use their skill spun the goats’ hair.
27The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.27And the leaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set, for the ephod and for the breastpiece,
28They also brought spices and olive oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense.28and spices and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense.
29All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do.29All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the LORD had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the LORD.
30Then Moses said to the Israelites, "See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,30Then Moses said to the people of Israel, “See, the LORD has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah;
31and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills--31and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship,
32to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,32to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze,
33to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts.33in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every skilled craft.
34And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others.34And he has inspired him to teach, both him and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan.
35He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers--all of them skilled workers and designers.35He has filled them with skill to do every sort of work done by an engraver or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, or by a weaver—by any sort of workman or skilled designer.
