Psalm 114
NET Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew Living Translation
1When Israel left Egypt, when the family of Jacob left a foreign nation behind, 1When the Israelites escaped from Egypt— when the family of Jacob left that foreign land—
2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his kingdom. 2the land of Judah became God’s sanctuary, and Israel became his kingdom.
3The sea looked and fled; the Jordan River turned back. 3The Red Sea saw them coming and hurried out of their way! The water of the Jordan River turned away.
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. 4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs!
5Why do you flee, O sea? Why do you turn back, O Jordan River? 5What’s wrong, Red Sea, that made you hurry out of their way? What happened, Jordan River, that you turned away?
6Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills? 6Why, mountains, did you skip like rams? Why, hills, like lambs?
7Tremble, O earth, before the Lord--before the God of Jacob, 7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
8who turned a rock into a pool of water, a hard rock into springs of water! 8He turned the rock into a pool of water; yes, a spring of water flowed from solid rock.
