Psalm 114
NET Parallel ISV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleInternational Standard Version
1When Israel left Egypt, when the family of Jacob left a foreign nation behind, 1When Israel came out of Egypt— the household of Jacob from a people of foreign speech—
2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his kingdom. 2Judah became his sanctuary and Israel his place of dominion.
3The sea looked and fled; the Jordan River turned back. 3The sea saw this and fled, the Jordan River ran backwards,
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. 4the mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like lambs.
5Why do you flee, O sea? Why do you turn back, O Jordan River? 5What happened to you, sea, that you fled? Jordan, that you ran backwards?
6Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills? 6Mountains, that you skipped like rams? and you hills, that you skipped like lambs?
7Tremble, O earth, before the Lord--before the God of Jacob, 7Tremble then, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8who turned a rock into a pool of water, a hard rock into springs of water! 8who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flinty rock into flowing springs.
