Psalm 114
NET Parallel NASB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
1When Israel left Egypt, when the family of Jacob left a foreign nation behind, 1When Israel went forth from Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his kingdom. 2Judah became His sanctuary, Israel, His dominion.
3The sea looked and fled; the Jordan River turned back. 3The sea looked and fled; The Jordan turned back.
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. 4The mountains skipped like rams, The hills, like lambs.
5Why do you flee, O sea? Why do you turn back, O Jordan River? 5What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back?
6Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills? 6O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?
7Tremble, O earth, before the Lord--before the God of Jacob, 7Tremble, O earth, before the Lord, Before the God of Jacob,
8who turned a rock into a pool of water, a hard rock into springs of water! 8Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of water.
