Psalm 114
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
1When Israel left Egypt, when the family of Jacob left a foreign nation behind, 1When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his kingdom. 2Judah became God's sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
3The sea looked and fled; the Jordan River turned back. 3The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back;
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. 4the mountains leaped like rams, the hills like lambs.
5Why do you flee, O sea? Why do you turn back, O Jordan River? 5Why was it, sea, that you fled? Why, Jordan, did you turn back?
6Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills? 6Why, mountains, did you leap like rams, you hills, like lambs?
7Tremble, O earth, before the Lord--before the God of Jacob, 7Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8who turned a rock into a pool of water, a hard rock into springs of water! 8who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.
