Psalm 114
NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
1When Israel left Egypt, when the family of Jacob left a foreign nation behind, 1When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his kingdom. 2Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
3The sea looked and fled; the Jordan River turned back. 3The sea looked and fled; Jordan turned back.
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. 4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
5Why do you flee, O sea? Why do you turn back, O Jordan River? 5What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back?
6Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills? 6O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?
7Tremble, O earth, before the Lord--before the God of Jacob, 7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8who turned a rock into a pool of water, a hard rock into springs of water! 8who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water.
