| 2In my time of trouble I sought the Lord. I kept my hand raised in prayer throughout the night. I refused to be comforted. | 2When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted. |
| 3I said, "I will remember God while I groan; I will think about him while my strength leaves me." (Selah) | 3I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint. |
| 4You held my eyelids open; I was troubled and could not speak. | 4You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. |
