NASB Parallel KJV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995King James Bible
For the choir director; according to Shushan Eduth. A Mikhtam of David, to teach; when he struggled with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt. O God, You have rejected us. You have broken us; You have been angry; O, restore us.1To the chief Musician upon Shushaneduth, Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aramnaharaim and with Aramzobah, when Joab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
You have made the land quake, You have split it open; Heal its breaches, for it totters.2Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
You have made Your people experience hardship; You have given us wine to drink that makes us stagger.3Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.4Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer us!5That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.
God has spoken in His holiness: "I will exult, I will portion out Shechem and measure out the valley of Succoth.6God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
"Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter.7Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
"Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Shout loud, O Philistia, because of Me!"8Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.
Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom?9Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God?10Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
O give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain.11Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Through God we shall do valiantly, And it is He who will tread down our adversaries.12Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
