NASB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995English Standard Version
For the choir director; according to Shushan Eduth. A Mikhtam of David, to teach; when he struggled with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, and Joab returned, and smote twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt. O God, You have rejected us. You have broken us; You have been angry; O, restore us.1O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses; you have been angry; oh, restore us.
You have made the land quake, You have split it open; Heal its breaches, for it totters.2You have made the land to quake; you have torn it open; repair its breaches, for it totters.
You have made Your people experience hardship; You have given us wine to drink that makes us stagger.3You have made your people see hard things; you have given us wine to drink that made us stagger.
You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.4You have set up a banner for those who fear you, that they may flee to it from the bow. Selah
That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and answer us!5That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer us!
God has spoken in His holiness: "I will exult, I will portion out Shechem and measure out the valley of Succoth.6God has spoken in his holiness: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Vale of Succoth.
"Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter.7Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet; Judah is my scepter.
"Moab is My washbowl; Over Edom I shall throw My shoe; Shout loud, O Philistia, because of Me!"8Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”
Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom?9Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
Have not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, O God?10Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go forth, O God, with our armies.
O give us help against the adversary, For deliverance by man is in vain.11Oh, grant us help against the foe, for vain is the salvation of man!
Through God we shall do valiantly, And it is He who will tread down our adversaries.12With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes.
