| 1Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. | 1Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends! |
| 2I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. | 2I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. |
| 3And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. | 3Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life. |

| 12I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. | 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. |
| 13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. | 13I can do all this through him who gives me strength. |

| 16For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. | 16for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. |
| 17Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. | 17Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. |
| 18But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. | 18I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. |
| 19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. | 19And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. |
| 20Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. | 20To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. |
| 21Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you. | 21Greet all God's people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings. |
