1A good reputation is more desirable than great wealth, and favorable acceptance more than silver and gold. | 1A good name is to be chosen rather than great wealth, good favor more than silver or gold. |
2The rich and the poor have this in common— the LORD created both of them. | 2The rich and the poor meet together; the LORD is the creator of them both. |
3The prudent person sees trouble ahead and hides, but the naive continue on and suffer the consequences. | 3A shrewd person sees danger and hides himself, but the naive keep right on going and suffer for it. |
