Good News Translation
Then pray, 'LORD, you have said that you would destroy this place, so that there would be no living creatures in it, neither people nor animals, and it would be like a desert forever.'

and say, ‘O LORD, you yourself threatened to destroy this place so that neither human beings nor animals shall live in it, and it shall be desolate forever.’

then pray, "Our LORD, you promised to destroy this place and make it into a desert where no people or animals will ever live."
